What To Do To Change For The Better

Many people find themselves stuck in a place in their life wherein they feel like they don’t know what to do, or worse, that where they are at this moment is a bad place. But while most may succumb to the despair of these negative situations, looking at it from a different point of view, it may be a catalyst for bigger and better things, especially when despite how hard things are, there is still an internal calling to grow. When this happens, it may be time to take action to make things change for the better!

The Signs
There are many signs that we can look out for to see if it is time for a change for the better. Here are some:

  1. There is an internal sadness or general discomfort about your life – this is a general sign that will often be the first. When we feel that we are sad or uncomfortable despite everything we have done or are doing with our lives. This can come from anywhere and at anytime, and is usually a signal that there is a higher calling than what you are doing right now.
  2. There is a feeling of being alone despite having “friends” and “colleagues” around – tied in to #1, this happens when the mind subconsciously decides that the people you surround yourself with are not really the people your soul is meant to be with. Perhaps it is searching for more like minded and like-souled individuals, hence a calling for change.
  3. You feel misunderstood and out of place – conversations with friends and colleagues don’t turn out the same as before, and you feel like you are an outcast because of your ideas or beliefs.
  4. Accomplishments don’t feel like victories – usually tied in with work or career, accomplishing bottomlines and goals don’t feel the same as they used to, and in fact make you even sadder and more disappointed.
  5. There is general feeling of unsatisfaction – everything from the things you have to the money in your bank account, whether too much or enough, isn’t giving you joy anymore.
Usually when any or all of these are felt, it is the universe calling for us to change, perhaps to find our true purpose in life, or to simply have a change in mindset.

Enjoy the benefits of meditation in just 15 minutes!
The Process

To be able to start the road to changing for the better, here are some of the steps that you need to accept or accomplish:
  1. Accept what you are feeling as truths – sometimes it is difficult to accept what we feel as truth, rather than just a fleeting emotion. Accepting is the first step to open yourself up for true change.
  2.  List down what you truly feel and want in life – it is important to have a roadmap for what you truly want in life. When you take this step, don’t doubt, just list the things that your know deep in your heart you desire the most, not out of some superficial wanting, but because it is truly what your life is for.
  3. Let go of the old – the old ways, the old things that don’t work in your life, the old things that cause sadness and doubt, prepare to let these things go, despite being attached to them after many years.
  4. START – this is the most important step. To actually take the leap of faith and begin your new journey for changing for the better. Whether this is a new career move, letting go of relationships, or simply taking the plunge and totally changing, this is it.
  5. Observe and check yourself without judgment -  letting go of the old and engaging in the new without judging yourself for any mistakes you may make is important. You are in the process of recreating yourself at this point, and know that this is all part of the re-learning process of the new things you will engage in.
  6. Don’t fall back to the old – sometimes in the process of change, you will be tempted to fall back to the old ways. Remember that you discarded them for a reason, and while it might seem safe and comforting at the start, dwelling on the old will not help you move forward.
  7. Surround yourself with the right people – it is important to find a support system to be able to push you to your goal of change. Being with the old crowd that made you feel different and unaccepted is not going to help. Find people with the same goals as you and thrive!
  8.  Feel the passion and love – relish in the passion and love for yourself and the new changes you are going through. This is what will push you even further, as, especially in the beginning, when everything is shaky and uncertain, it is your passion and love for yourself and your own well-being that will propel you forward, to change for the better!

So I’m Lucid Dreaming. Now What? What To Do In Lucid Dreams

Over the past few days, we have been addressed the question “what is lucid dreaming?” gave tips on how to prepare for lucid dreaming, and what to expect from lucid dreaming when it does happen. Let’s continue this series of discussions about lucid dreaming by talking about the things you could do once you’re lucid dreaming.

    The possibilities are endless

One thing to remember about lucid dreaming is that once you’re in, you’re going to be in control as to what you can do, see, experience, and feel. This means, that in lucid dreams, the possibilities are literally endless, and are only limited by your own personal imagination and convictions. For many people, lucid dreaming is a chance for them to do and experience things that would otherwise be impossible in the real world, such as…

    Amazing physical feats

Everyone in the waking world can run fast, jump long, and do things like hiking and swimming. In the lucid dream world, however, you can do much, much more. Flying is a very popular activity to do in lucid dreams; many people experience flight in normal dreams and are hooked to the experience, but in lucid dreams, being in control brings flight to a whole new level. Fly over places you’ve visited in real life, places you want to visit, and even places that don’t actually exist, and are only created by yourself!
Other physical feats include transforming into an animal and seeing the world through its eyes, eating an endless feast of food, lift mountains and rocks and cars with your super strength, and have godlike athleticism to beat all your favorite athletes in any sport! Again, the possibilities are endless, so experiment!

    Learn more about yourself

Introspection is another popular activity in lucid dreams, and doing so can improve one’s self greatly.
Facing fears is something that many people use lucid dreaming for. When you are in control, and are secure in the fact that you can be safe, facing your fears, in any form, can help you deal with them in the waking world. Conjure up what you fear the most, face and conquer it, and voila!
Another is practicing skills without manipulating things in your favor. Everything from how to talk people for job interviews or just casual conversation, to sharpening athletic or academic skills like a sport or solving mathematical equations. This translates to real life improvement because studies have shown that the same neurons of the brain fire when doing a particular activity, whether in the dream or in the waking world. In fact, in some cases, people can get to unlock skills they didn’t know they had in them until they tried it in their lucid dream. So get to practicing!

    Meet people

This is yet another popular lucid dream activity. From famous people from history, to fictional characters in books and movies, and even people you’ve met in real life but have not been able get the chance to interact with. Imagine being able to talk to Gandhi, or Bilbo Baggins, or your work or school crush you’ve been wanting to express your feelings to (see practicing skills in the previous paragraph.)

In some cases, a dreamer can even converse with someone they just conjured up in their dream, and in advanced levels of lucid dreaming, they can even converse with people and creatures not of this world! There are some who claim that when this happens, it is possible that they are actually conversing with other dreamers from other worlds. How exciting is that possibility!

    Create your own world

This is arguably the biggest and most complex thing one can do in a lucid dream. Conjuring up a whole new world where you can experience a plethora of things and sensations is a truly amazing possibility. For an artist, such as a writer or a painter or even a musician, the appearance of such a world is only bound by their imagination. For those who are less artistically inclined, it is a chance for your inner self to be unleashed and for you to see what ideas you hold within. Once created, many people can easily preserve their world in their mind and go back to it (or recreate it) when they lucid dream. It’s literally an alternate reality!

These are just a few of the things you could do when you lucid dream. We will be discussing way more possibilities in the coming days and with more blog posts, but for now, try the ones we listed above when you go into your lucid dream! And to help you with that, listen to this Brainwave Power Music binaural beats track for lucid dreaming beginners, which can help stimulate the mind through multiple stages from relaxation to dream enhancement.

Electrical Brain Stimulation Triggers Lucid Dreaming

Lucid dreaming is considered to be exceptional to humans, and it happens when we realize that we are dreaming within a dream, which sometimes allows people to manipulate their sleeping story that are identified during the sequence of dream events. This powerful dream state is quite rare, but scientists say they have discovered the mechanism that triggers lucid dreaming.

Lucid dreaming has long been appealing to mankind. When you become lucid during a dream and gain control of the dream, the experience itself has been advantageous, thus studied and journaled for centuries. In the recent century, further psychological and scientific studies have resulted in many methods and exercises that can encourage lucid dreams. The prospect of consciously exploring the dream-space can provide insights into the mysteries of the unconscious mind. Lucid dreaming can also be therapeutic in addressing disturbing memories or constant nightmares.

Scientists made an enormous threshold in understanding the physiology of lucid dreams, which leads to individuals to experience lucid dreams by motivating their brains with specific electrical frequencies. Researchers believed that their findings could help on human consciousness and give way to treat mental illness and post-traumatic nightmares.

According to Dr. Ursula Voss, of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, lucid dreaming is a very good tool to observe what happens in the brain and what is causally necessary for secondary consciousness. Together with her team, they found out that lucid dreams occur during REM sleep. At the beginning of a sleep cycle, the brain slows from high frequency gamma and beta waves connected with waking and alertness. The guide to brain activity advances through slowing alpha waves to deep sleep delta and theta frequencies. Ironically, the sleep cycle heightens in REM, and the brainwaves speed up.

Dreams usually occur during REM sleep, when many regions of the brain become visible to be functioning as if it were awake. When you experienced lucid dreaming, there was distinct gamma activity, the highest frequency range of the brainwave, in the frontotemporal region. The frontotemporal region is connected with functioning, decision making, processing complex stimuli, and self-awareness. The team see possibility for lucid dreaming to help people with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or those people that are prone to nightmares to get their fears under control. Any electrical brain stimulation should be conducted under the expert guidance of a physician.

Exploring Sex and Spirit through Lucid Dreaming

Exploring Sex and Spirit through Lucid Dreaming

Imagine that while dreaming you actually apprehend that you are able to take mindful control over what is happening in your dreams, all of that while falling asleep. This is a sensation called LUCID DREAMING. An enormously intense and delightful dream state, in which you can make your every wish come true!

Vivid dream involvements are many times related with dreams about sex and sexuality. Erotic dreams play an essential role in the history, dream theory, and myths. If you have experienced lucid dreams, it will take you to the next level of excitement. Through improving the vividness and clarity of dreams, lucid dreaming can boost intense sexual dreams, and affectedly improves your dream experiences.

We dream because of our extreme activity that is constantly going on in our hidden minds and since sex is one of the most influential and exciting of all human drives, it's not so shocking that many dreams have a strong sexual content. If we have profound needs to do certain things, they are more likely to come out in our dreams where our consciences cannot prevent them happening while we are sleeping.

A wet dream happens to most guys and occurs when you have a sexually arousing dream during sleep, and your body releases semen through ejaculation. Medically termed as “nocturnal emission”. During the REM (rapid eye movement) phase of sleep, it is normal for guys to experience an erection and ejaculate. Your central nervous system spirits up and your body goes through the same physical reactions that happen when you're turned on in real life.

Exploring into lucid dreaming sexuality may have some unexpected results due to the power of the erotic energies, and here are some tips on how can you explore Eros safely in lucid dreams:

Eye Contact. Get focused on you dream. Dream figures can connect consent this way. Direct eye contact, especially in the powerful way you say, represents a strong connection with whatever the person or things represents because that happens in dreams and can lead to some ecstatic moments in and of itself.

Surprise Arrivals and Shape-Shifting Dream Figures. Often times we have a fantasy in mind but someone else present in the lucid dream. This is a gentle situation and only you can know what to do. Moreover, the dream brings vision when an unexpected dream character arrives. This person may have something to share that is not of a sexual nature. So pay attention to whispering dream figures. Our minds have deep connections between ecstasy and repulsion, so it’s important to stay grounded and remember that this is a dream.

Stay Flexible. Being flexible when discovering the sensual side of lucid dreaming is good. If you have a strange new fantasy that comes out of nowhere, remember that you are dreaming and in a safe place to explore new ideas. And who says you need to have a dream body to experience ecstasy? Above all, as with all forms of intimacy: love yourself. If you can’t love yourself, you can’t love anyone else.

Play Safe. Dream eroticism is just about the safest sex around. Thus, there are some valid concerns to consider because of the intense emotionality that is often accessed during lucid dreams. Often intimacy can cover the powerful psychological aspects that require the highest caution.

For some people, especially beginners, if you are feeling uncomfortable about lucid dream sexuality, talk with an adult you trust. Talking about it is the best way to allow you to feel more comfortable about this natural part of your development with respect, gratitude, and sincerity. You will learn that erotic lucid dreaming can be fun and fulfilling with the right information. So, educate yourself into a proper manner of lucid dreaming.

Dreams vs. Video Games As Alternate Realities

According to a psychologist named Jayne Gackenbach, people who played immersive video games were more likely to report lucid dreams. Gamers never had dream control over anything beyond their dream selves but they also were able to change perspectives from first person to observer as if floating outside of their body. They didn’t code nightmares as “threatening.” Rather, they seemed to be having fun with dream situations that non-gamers coded as nightmares.

Psychologists consider nightmares as one of the symptoms of PTSD, and studies have shown incredibly high rates of nightmares ranging from 71 to 96 percent among PTSD patients. By contrast, just 3 to 5 percent of civilians reported the same levels of nightmares.

Virtual reality simulators have already been used to help PTSD patients gradually adjust to the threatening situations that plague their waking and sleeping thoughts.

But do video games affect your ability to lucid dream? Can lucid dreaming be inspired by video games? Is there any correlation between the two?

Since then, any time a dream has become frightening, the fear has triggered a lucid state. It always follows the same pattern:

    · Something in the dream causes fear
    · The fear makes you lucid
    · You may shout "this is my dream!"

The lucidity allows you to overcome the fear.

Whatever you do during the day can become the kindling for dreams you have at night. Have you ever spent a lot of the day doing a particular activity, and then found yourself doing the same thing in your dream? What if that activity was a type of virtual reality? Would that virtual reality become your dream reality?

No matter what we do in the game, we're still sitting in a comfortable couch in a warm house. The reinforcement that nothing can actually hurt us can transfer into our dream world, transforming our nightmares into lucid dreams.

Finding’s shows how hardcore gaming affects the gamer's experience and reaction to nightmares. They grow resistant to them, in the sense that bad dreams aren't as likely to wake them up, and gamers are more likely to take control of them as a lucid main character and, perhaps, even find them enjoyable. This has rolled over into a theory that gaming can have an effect in dealing with real-life waking threats, as well.

The distinction with between Reality, Virtual Reality, and Lucid Dreams are becoming harder to distinguish. However what is present in all of them is that the brain is a remarkable tool and we are only just beginning to understand its potential. Games have provided Gamers with an introduction into alternative realities allowing Gamers this extra special skill for Lucid Dreaming, as their mind has already been trained to understand that multiple realities can exist at once. How will these new Realities change the world we live in?

If you are new to lucid dreaming or would like to give it a try check out this 8 Hour Lucid Dreaming Track that you play as you fall asleep to induce a Lucid Dream.
