How To Interact With Lost Loved Ones Through Lucid Dreaming

The pain of loss is something that many of us do not wish to go through, but inevitably do, at some point in our lives. Whether it is a parent, a sibling, a friend, or a pet, it will happen. There can be many things that have been left unsaid or undone and it is too late, for our loved ones are gone. But there is a way to interact with those we have lost, whether to relive past experiences, to talk and have closure, or simply to continue to feel their presence even after they have gone. And that is through lucid dreaming.

First of all however, before you proceed, know that anyone you will talk to through lucid dreaming is created by your own subconscious mind, and not actual visitations from the dead. Although this is quite possible through other means, through lucid dreaming, it is simply an introspective way of interacting with our lost loved ones.

How Is It Possible?

Remember, lucid dreaming allows the dreamer to control one’s dreams, summoning from within one’s subconscious memories of our lost loved ones and creating in the dreamscape experiences based on what we know, feel, and remember about them. Our subconscious will remember what they sounded like, how they acted, their exact actions from memories, how they look, how they feel, virtually everything.

It is from this subconscious bank that our lucid dreams can manifest into one wherein we can interact with our deceased loved ones.

Is it a bad idea?

There will be people who may find the use of lucid dreams to speak to our passed on loved ones as unethical, fake, or even evil as it may be against a religious belief.  But the thing is, it will really depend on why you want to do it.

For example, if this is done to keep the memory of the loved one alive, or to remember all the good instead of just the bad, or to have some closure at the passing, then we see nothing wrong with using lucid dreaming in this way.

There are people who deal with loss in many different but similar ways, like looking at photo albums, watching old home movies, visiting places they frequented, and doing the things done by the deceased. Lucid dreaming experiences with them is no different.

So as long as the intent is pure, it shouldn’t be a bad idea.

How is it done?

It is important before you attempt this that you know how to perform lucid dreaming. We have numerous guides on the subject which you can find in the links below.  Once you have a good grasp of lucid dreaming, follow these steps.

1.)    Set your intent early in the day – as early as you wake up, set the intention of having a lucid dream experience with your lost loved one. Hold on to this intent for the rest of the day.

2.)    Pick a memory or a previous experience – to stimulate both your conscious and subconscious, recall a memory you want to draw from constantly during the day.

3.)    Prepare the room – once you’re ready, prepare the room for your lucid dreaming experience. Place items that will stimulate even more memories of the lost loved one, like photos, mementos, and so on.

4.)    Lay down and begin – sleep, and follow the steps to achieve lucidity, and start the lucid dream experience.

We advise that once the lucid dream starts, and the deceased loved one manifests, to not control the dream fully, but rather, simply experience it naturally and let the subconscious help. This can give new memories and experiences that may enrich the memory of your loved ones after you wake up.
To help guide you in the lucid dream experience, listen to our most popular binaural beats track for lucid dreaming here.

Using a complex pattern of binaural beat and isochronic tone frequencies dedicated to help you achieve good sleep and have lucid dreams, this 8-hour music track is divided into four unique sections. In the first 2 hours we've used frequencies that range from 3-13Hz (Alpha-Theta range) to help calm your mind and feel deeply relaxed. There is a pleasurable feeling of floating and it will give effects such as stress reduction, relaxed awareness, release of serotonin, and an induction to sleep spindles as your mind and body allows itself into sleep. It also contains triggers for creativity and imagery and access to subconscious images as you doze off.

The second and third sections contain more of the Theta waves, which are also present in dreaming, sleep, deep meditation and creative inspiration. As you have already fallen asleep, the binaural beats tap into your subconsciousness as your mind prepares itself into a lucid dream state. The music is more steady so as not to interrupt your sleep.

The fourth and last section returns itself to the Alpha range with a mix of Theta and Delta. This is where deep sleep occurs and more often than not, the dream state. There is a decreased awareness of the physical world. This section also contains the Earth Resonance or Schumann Resonance, which will leave you feeling revitalized upon waking up.

How To Map Out A Life Plan With Lucid Dreaming

Sometimes, we reach a point wherein we feel like our life has no set route to take, and it leaves us feeling uncertain about the future. Oftentimes when this happens, people suggest that one should have a “life plan”, or a roadmap of what to do, what to achieve, and what to reach for in order to get to where we want to be. It is a detailed description of your decisions, intentions, hopes and dreams for your future. But even coming up with a life plan can be a challenge in itself, especially when things are often uncertain or if we’re filled with doubt and fear. This is where lucid dreaming can help.

How Will Lucid Dreaming Help

Lucid dreaming allows the dreamer to be in control of their dreams, to do anything from practice life and work skills to traveling to distant lands to even experiencing living a different life. And these are the elements of lucid dreaming that can precisely help with mapping out a life plan: testing!
Any decision, situation, and scenario that can be thought of involved in the path of the life plan can be tested and experienced in lucid dreaming, and can give the dreamer an insight on to how to solve problems, go about tasks, and how it feels to succeed when milestones are gained. This can give the dreamer the chance to foresee their life plan if it is truly what they want, and make adjustments if necessary!

How To Map Out A Life Plan
The first thing to do when mapping out a life plan is to accept the fact that change might be needed, in varying degrees that may be uncomfortable, at first. We have a previous article detailing how to make changes for the better, which you may find here, that can help with this aspect of the planning process.

But in general, here are 5 easy steps in mapping out a life plan.

1.)    Understand your wants and needs and what makes you happy – what exactly do you want and need for your life? What can make your life happy? List down all aspects of it, your physical life, emotional life, spiritual life, and how they intertwine with one another. List everything down and be truthful to yourself, don’t hold back. After all, this is your life!

2.)    List down all your strengths and skills – what are you good at? What are you passionate about that you can back up with skills and talents? It is imperative to be honest with yourself about your own strengths and weaknesses, as it is these strengths that will bring you ever closer to your goals and keep you moving forward with your life plan.

3.)    Outline your solid goals, think two to three steps ahead – don’t just write “I want to be happy.” Consider steps 1 and 2, and list goals that will lead to other elements that will make you happy. For example, a man passionate about arts and is good at painting may have a goal that says “I want to create paintings that will sell in galleries and bring me money to buy a house in 5 years”, instead of just saying “I want to paint and earn.” And make sure to make these goals detailed once an initial outline is made. With the given example above, it can be made even more detailed by adding the names of the galleries where the artwork will be sold, what kind of paintings will be made, and what kind of house and how big is the goal.

4.)    Make sure your life plan addresses all your wants and goals – a life plan is not just about career, or passions, or monetary success. A life plan should address all the aspects of your life, in order to bring you true happiness.

5.)    Test out the plan in lucid dreams! – once you have your life plan mapped out, with all the steps you intend to take, you can regularly fine tune and tweak the plan by lucid dreaming it! For example, if your life plan includes something like “I want to be happy composing music and performing in bars around town for money and fulfillment”, you can test this scenario in your dreams and see how you will feel about it. Did it make you happy experiencing it? Keep it in the plan! Did it feel like it lacks something? Find out and add it to the plan. Was it not what you thought it would be? Then remove it or change the plan!

Regularly lucid dreaming one’s life plan will be beneficial in seeing whether or not what you thought you want to achieve will actually give you the happiness you seek, before you set out to be on the path. Just be sure you are able to lucid dream properly! This binaural beats track for lucid dreaming can definitely help.

In this new track that we have created, we have formulated the binaural beats and isochronic tones to the brainwave frequencies between 13Hz down to 1Hz, with a carrier frequency of 136.1Hz. This bracket of brainwaves are mostly in the Theta region, where it provides deep relaxation and creativity. They are also found active during a person's dreaming state, where the mind becomes busy with imagery.

How To Increase Study Time With Lucid Dreaming

There are only 24 hours in one day. And while for many this might be enough, for many more, it is not. Especially for students who are struggling with school, who can quickly find themselves swamped with so much schoolwork and assignments that make it seem like 24 hours is not even close to being enough. Oftentimes the need to sleep overtakes the need to study, and can cause students to fall behind, if not outrightly fail, due to not having enough time to learn before exams or projects. But what if you can continue studying and learning, even while you sleep? This is very possible with lucid dreaming!

Why lucid dreaming?

Lucid dreaming is the ability to shape and gain control of your dreams, to be able to have an experience that is so close to realism that it seems like the dream world is more real than the waking world. While this has many other applications, such as being able to time travel, being able to live in your favorite movies, TV shows, and books, and even lose weight, lucid dreaming can be most useful to students in the form of increasing not just their study time, but also improving the quality of learning during the dream. This is by creating a dream that allows them to be able to recall, learn, and absorb what they wish to study, and even enhance the way they do it with a variety of different means (see below.)

How does it work?

One of the key things that allow lucid dreamers to have “more time” to study while they dream is the altered perception of time. When people dream (whether a regular or lucid dream), the perception of time is altered, more often than not, it seems and feels like a lot more time has passed than it really has. If you recall the plot of the movie Inception, wherein the various layers of dreams within dreams stretched the experience of time even more, this is the idea. So while you may only actually dream for an hour or so, -a person doesn't dream from the moment they fall asleep, this is a misconception- depending on the dream experience, it may seem like days, months, even years have passed.

Imagine having that kind of “time stretching” ability, and using it to study and learn? Wouldn't that be useful?

Now, I know what you might be thinking: how can what you learn or study in a dream actually translate to the real world, if at all? Will you actually be able to recall and recover whatever it is you learned and experienced in the dream and make use of it?

In our previous posts we discussed being able to use lucid dreaming for a variety of ways, like losing weight, improving athletic abilities, or pursuing artistic passions. The same principles apply when using lucid dreaming to study and learn school subjects! That is, being able to create the scenario that will be conducive to learning, actually engaging in the act of learning or studying, and then recalling what you have experienced in a lucid dream journal for reference.

Basic steps and principles

The primary requirement to be able to do this is the ability to lucid dream. You can find the basic steps for lucid dreaming and preparing your room for lucid dreaming in our previous posts. Once you have learned to perform lucid dreaming, here are the basic steps that can serve as a guideline for you to be able to study while lucid dreaming.

  1. Set your intent early – this tip has been recommended numerous times before, and for good reason. To be able to fully maximize the lucid dream experience, you should set the intent as early as possible. That is, the intent to dream about something specific, which in this case is to dream about what you wish to study. A good way to do this is to start the day with a mantra, like, “I will dream about this subject...” and constantly reinforcing this during the day by reading up on your notes when you can.
  2. Prepare your method of studying – this is a crucial step as it will determine the quality of learning you get. Before actually entering the lucid dreamworld, you should have an idea on how you want to be able to study. Are you a more tactile learner, that is, you learn faster when you touch and manipulate things? Or are you a reader wherein you learn better if you have access to mountains of information? Once you figure out how you learn best, it is important to keep this in mind for use in the dreamworld.
  3. Ready your room – in addition to the basic steps of preparing your room for lucid dreaming, it is important to have as much learning material as possible within close proximity of where you will be sleeping. These can act as lucid dreaming anchors and reminders of what you wish to do when you lucid dream, in addition to your reinforced lucid dream intent. Books, notes, laptops with powerpoint slides, anything, should be on nearby desks and tables in your room.
  4. Perform your reality checks – once you sleep and begin to dream, (following the lucid dreaming steps in our previous posts) it is important to not get lost in the dream and to actually take control! Perform your lucid dream reality checks to be able to enter lucidity faster, and begin studying and learning.
  5. Execute the study session, stretch time – remember your preferred method of studying, and execute it in the dreamworld. A tactile learner can conjure a room with various tools and items that can help in studying, while a reader can create a library of endless books and notes that they can delve into. And there are even more creative ways of learning about certain subjects, like summoning experts like Albert Einstein or Charles Darwin, or time traveling to a historical event and experiencing it first hand, and so on. The possibilities are virtually limitless.

The one thing that needs to be remembered is to stretch the time in order to be able to absorb more information than usual. There are many ways to do this, which is the same principle as time traveling with lucid dreaming, which we have discussed before here. But the basic idea is simple: if you wish to slow down or extend time in the lucid dream, you can, because you are in control!
  6. Record everything in your lucid dream journal – once you wake up, it is important to record your experience in your lucid dream journal as soon as possible. Don't wait too long! When doing this, it is not necessarily required to record straight up facts or information, but rather, record the whole experience itself. What this does is help you recall what you studied in the dream when you re-read your journal, and can greatly enhance your study time in the waking world.

Follow these basic steps and you can extend your study hours, improving your academic performance. Don't forget to include a binaural beats trackfor memory, learning, and cognitive improvement in order to help your study even further, like this track.

This complex music track contains binaural beats and isochronic tone frequencies that range between the Theta and Beta ranges, comprised of 3Hz to 18Hz which flows up and down throughout the entire 3-hour session. It was created to promote and assist in the enhancement of your creativity and focus for studying.

The soothing music accompaniment is intended to make you feel relaxed so as to open your mind and let creative and learning juices flow freely. Since the carrier frequency also relates to Mars, this promotes activity, energy, strength of will, focused energy and ability for achievement.

How To Pursue Your Artistic Passions With Lucid Dreaming And Binaural Beats

Many of us have artistic passions we are interested in pursuing, but aren’t, due to a number of reasons. Whether it’s because we don’t have time, or just don’t have the skills or funds to do so, our artistic passions define who we really are inside and it is very important that we at least try to practice them as much as we can. But with very busy schedules, limited energy, and controlled funds, how can we do so? The answer is within us, literally: through lucid dreams and binaural beats!

What are lucid dreams? Binaural beats?
Lucid dreams are dreams where the dreamer is fully aware and in control of their dream. We have discussed this numerous times before, and have many guides that can help, which you can find in our blog. But the most important thing that you need to know about lucid dreams is that the experience feels very, very real, and that whatever the dreamer feels inside the dream translates to real life, in one form or another.

Binaural beats is a form of brainwave entertainment and sound/music therapy that stimulates certain brainwave patterns that have different benefits for the mind and body, ranging from creativity, to memory, to focus, to proper bodily healing, and everything in between. Listening to binaural beats on a regular basis will constantly give these benefits and improve both the mind and body’s capabilities.

How does it work for artistry?
We have previously discussed what lucid dreaming and binaural beats do for athletic performance and losing weight in previous posts. How it works, is that lucid dreaming allows the dreamer to create a dream wherein they are able to do a specific set of movements, whether it be a basketball jumpshot or simply running or controlling their diet and appetite, with binaural beats stimulating specific brainwaves to reinforce what they have done in the dream.

The same works for artistic passions, although there are slight differences that need to be done in order to focus more on the creativity and out-of-the-box thinking that are required for artistic pursuits like painting, sculpting, dancing, singing, and many others.

How to get started
While there are various ways to approach this, lucid dreaming to pursue your artistic passions have basic general steps that need to be followed in order for it to work.
  1. Visualize and set your intent early - As the day starts, reinforce the idea that in the night to follow, you will lucid dream and pursue an artistic passion. This is important as it conditions the mind to work towards this goal for many hours before you actually sleep. Visualize exactly what you want to work on; for example, if you wish to improve your ability to paint, think of painting amazing works on canvas, or draw inspiration from your favorite painters by remembering their work. Keep these things in mind the whole day.

  2. Create a foundation – when you can afford the time, it is good to create a foundation, where you can start your work from in your lucid dream. Depending on the art you wish to pursue, this can be done while you work, or during your lunch break, or even before heading to bed. A foundation is a piece of art you can recall during the dream and work from, like a sketch on a piece of paper, or a basic tune to a song, or the first stanza of a poem, or even just a piece of clay you have started to shape with your hands. Once you have this, keep it with you and remember to place it beside the bed when you sleep.

  3. Prepare the room - to improve your chances at lucidity, it is important to prepare your room properly for lucid dreaming. Our guide to do this can be found here. But what can be done in addition to the tips we have already provided, is to place your artistic paraphernalia in the room as well. For example, painters and illustrators can have a blank canvas, a palette, and even the faint smell of some paint present to help stimulate the dream as you sleep. Musical instruments, pencils and papers, books on poetry, hammers and chisels, all of these can help by stimulating the subconscious as you prepare to sleep. And of course, your foundation should be present as well.

  4. Execute reality checks – once you are dreaming, remember to perform your reality checks. A guide to do this can be found here. Another thing you can check is your foundation! Look or try to recall that work you made prior, and see if you actually can, and if you do, is it distorted, or not as you remember it? If so, this is a sign that you are asleep and dreaming, and can now enter lucidity.

  5. Pursue your passion – now in control of your dream, you can begin. At this point, you can begin to pursue your artistic passion. If you can remember your foundation, you can try to recreate that in your dream, make it better or build on top of it. If not, you can just create a new work of art, limited only by your imagination. Remember, in the lucid dream, there are no mistakes, and whatever your mind conjures up is something that will benefit your skills and abilities. But one thing you should remember, is that you should do the art you wish while lucid dreaming! If it’s painting, then paint. If it’s music, then compose and hear the tunes. The possibilities are endless.

  6. Record everything – when you wake up, do not forget to record your artistic work in your lucid dream journal as soon as you can. And this is beyond just words (unless your artistic passion is writing!) Draw it, play and record it with your musical instrument, write the stanzas down. You’ll be amazed by what is produced!
Do this on a regular basis and very surely your artistic abilities will improve and make you a better and more confident artist! Oh, and one last thing. A binaural beats track for lucid dreaming is very, very useful, like our new track, Float High – Lucid Dream Enhancement Music:

Feel bliss and tranquility as you journey through your dreamscapes tonight. Using a complex series of binaural beat and isochronic tone frequencies, we have divided this music track into four parts. The first part will bring you into a state of deep relaxation, creative inspiration for imagery that you will use for your dreams, and introductory frequencies to help trigger lucid dreams. The second part starts in the Theta range and drops slowly down to the Delta, where deep sleep and lucid dream frequencies can be found. Here, you will have decreased awareness of the physical world and can give an awake awareness to your subconsciousness. The third and fourth parts will continue to flow up and down these Theta and Delta ranges, but focusing more on enhanced inner awareness and easy access to inner resources that will help create the dreamscape. In a spiritual level, these will help you seek inner peace and self-renewal.
