What Is a Light Worker/Warrior?

Have you ever had the urge to simply get up and try to help others, even without any beckoning? Have you felt so much empathy and affinity with the creatures and people around you, their plights and their troubles, and have had the strongest pull to try and help? Have you ever experienced simply feeling an overwhelming sense of duty to try and help others, heal the sick and weary, and do what you can to change the world for the better, despite your material and financial limitations? If so, you may be a Light Worker or a Light Warrior.

What are Light Workers/Warriors?

Light Workers/Warriors are beings born of this earth, (some say who volunteered before birth, others say who are born with the duty) to help Earth, its denizens, and its elements heal and recover from the effects of evil, fear, and destruction. It is said everyone is born a Light Worker/Warrior, but as we grow up, with the materialistic focus of “real life” taking its hold, our divine and sacred purpose is slowly forgotten, and with it, the abilities to heal and change the world for the better. When Light Workers/Warriors forget their true selves, but are on the brink of remembering, they feel lost, afraid, and without a sense of purpose, except for a distinctive pull to be a positive force.

What is the difference between a Worker and a Warrior?

A Light Worker and a Light Warrior are the same, except for one key element: Light Warriors fight. No, not fight skeptics over the internet, not go to war with some foreign power, not fight crime as a superhero (although there are Light Warriors who end up being soldiers and law enforcement officers as part of their duty to change the world for the better.) No, Light Warriors are fighters of a different kind. Say, while Light Workers help others be sheltered from fear and darkness, Light Warriors help those people fight fear and engage the dark. The difference is the subtle ways in which they bring the light to the world, although they are very well the same.
Both the Light Worker and the Light Warrior use the same tools and weapons: Love, Peace, Forgiveness, Purity, Understanding, Hope, Faith, and so on. It is in their methods that the two vary, as mentioned earlier.
Enjoy the benefits of meditation in just 15 minutes!
What are the signs of being a Light Worker or Warrior?

This simple checklist will tell you if you are on the verge of awakening into your true Light Worker or Warrior self:
1.)    Do you feel compelled to heal and help others in their times of need?
2.)    Do you want to take on the problems of the world, whether environmental, social, economical, or political, even if it feels like it is too much to handle?
3.)    Have you had any recent mystical experiences like seeing angels or having visions?
4.)    Do you believe that spiritual tools and methods work, and provide healing and positivity to others?
5.)    Do you feel compelled to share your experiences to others, and want to awaken other Workers and Warriors?
6.)    Do you feel the urgent need to ACT NOW?
If so, congratulations, you are about to awaken into your Light Worker or Warrior self! Do not resist the calling. Do not give in to fear. Regardless of how hard it might be, be in touch with your Divine Purpose.

What’s Next?

If you discover yourself awakened to your Divine Purpose, the next step is to simply… act! Let the inner voice, touched by the Divine, guide you, push you to act and change the world according to its plan. But remember: changing the world for the better can be done many different ways. Do not lose hope that you are doing just the simple and easy things, rather than doing massive global change. Each effort is important, and yours is just as!

What Is Mindfulness?

Ever head the phrase “be mindful of those around you”? What exactly is being mindful all about? More specifically, what is mindfulness, a word that has been associated with everything from enhancing meditation to achieving many things like weight-loss and success? Let’s find out more.

A Path To Enlightenment

Mindfulness, as many of us know it simply from our vocabulary, means “to be mindful”, to have awareness, attention, and focus on certain things. It is to be able devote the mind to be aware and be able to perceive things properly.

But in the community of wellness, meditation, and spirituality, mindfulness means something more. It is not just a state of mind, but is also a practice, to be able to sharpen one’s focus and awareness to be mindful of whatever is happening around, to be fully in the moment so one is able to pay attention on purpose, as if every passing second is crucial to one’s life. It is the ability for one to engage all their senses even in the simplest situations, to fully absorb all the stimuli the universe has to offer.

In a way, it can be defined as a stepping stone towards the Buddhist idea of enlightenment, which is a state of being where the attentive awareness of the reality of things has been reached, allowing one to truly overcome the evils of the world like greed, anger, delusion, and more.

A More Practical View

While many have embraced mindfulness as a fully spiritual and cosmic state of being, many psychologists in mainstream science have also accepted mindfulness, although in a more practical sense. Many of these psychologists define mindfulness as having these three important pillars:

1.)    Seeing things beyond normal – in layman’s terms, thinking out of the box, going beyond existing labels of people, objects, and events, that are given by society, to be able to always see beyond what things are just “supposed to be.” For example, a rock is not just a rock, it is also an art piece, a primitive tool, a toy, a small piece of a bigger whole.

2.)    Focusing on the means and not just the ends – in today’s results oriented society, the bottomline is often the goal, regardless of how one gets there. But by being mindful of each step, on the process rather than the result, one is able to grow as a person and not simply be a slave to the rewards. For instance, a student who is more focused on getting an A in a test may resort to cheating or other nefarious means, whereas a student who is more focused on learning, may get an A in the test as a result. The latter is more mindful.

3.)    Open mindedness – the ability to always welcome new information and facts, rather than being unreasonably stuck in one’s own old, outdated, or even wrong beliefs, allows for proper growth and fully experiencing the universe for what it truly is. To be able to do this, one should always be open minded, as well as see things from other people’s points of view, to constantly learn.

So for the Western and scientific communities, mindfulness is about being fully aware of every single experience, which, when seen side by side with the Buddhism-inspired idea of mindfulness, becomes much more similar to one another.

Benefits Of Mindfulness

Mindfulness has a number of benefits that are beyond what is listed here. In general, it can help one become more aware, more focused, more immersed in each experience, and overall can lead to a happier, more fulfilled life. It also has the effect of giving one more control of their life.
In addition, it can also do the following:

1.)    Improve health and weightloss – by being mindful of the food one eats, as well as fully experiencing the eating process rather than just gorging on as much food as possible.

2.)    Improve brain function and benefits – mindfulness practice (which will be discussed below) can improve brain activity.

3.)    Better decision making – being mindfully aware of different things causes the brain to lessen if not eliminate its bias on old ways and allows one to make better, more realistic decisions.
There are many other benefits of mindfulness, which will be discussed in a future blog post.

How To Practice Mindfulness

Mindfulness is not an on-off skill. Nor is it simply an end-goal as a state of mind. It is something that is constantly grown and nurtured for the rest of one’s life.

One can practice methods such as mindfulness meditation, which can actively train the mind to be more mindful, but it has to go beyond that. Actively pulling yourself to be mindful when distractions pull you away have to be done. Like, when you find yourself eating too fast, slow down and savor each bite. Before reacting in a conversation, take a short pause, process what is said, and then respond. Things like this can help you be more mindful and cultivate mindfulness.

As mentioned earlier, mindfulness meditation can help improve this. A basic process for mindfulness meditation is as follows:

1. sitting in an upright posture with legs crossed and gaze low.
2. recognizing natural thoughts and complex thoughts.
3. removing all past and future concerns and problems from the mind.
4. breathing properly and using it as an anchor to the present.
5. allowing the mind to rest.

To further improve your mindfulness through mindfulness meditation, listen to this binaural beats track for deep meditation.

Meditation can be done in various ways. One way is with the use of music embedded with binaural beats, such as this one which was created with frequencies of 8-13Hz and 108Hz. Found within the Alpha range, it pertains to a tranquil state of consciousness that affects the inward awareness of the body and mind.

The Essential Keys To Happiness

Many people pretty much have it all: money, possessions, friends, and yet find it challenging to live a truly happy life. And then there are people who barely skate by: live from paycheck to paycheck, only have pets and the barest of essentials, a small circle of allies, and yet are some of the happiest people on Earth. How is this possible? How can something so counterintuitive, based on societal norms, be possible? It’s simple: being happy depends on so much more.

The Keys To Happiness

The thing about happiness is that it’s both simple to achieve, and yet not, because some of the keys run contrary to what we may know and have been raised to believe. But when done right, in the right doses, based on what one is capable of doing, these keys to happiness will truly increase your happiness levels to new heights.

The keys to happiness are divided into two parts: the keys for the outward, and the keys for the inward.

The Outward Keys
These are the things that involve our daily activities, things we do to our physical self, do outside to other people, to the world, our expression of self to everyone and everything else.

1.)    Give and Relate – when you care about others and give and extend help, gifts, or assistance. In addition to this, building relationships by relating to others, engaging in their joys, supporting them through their sorrows, and strengthening bonds through love and care, it makes us happy. Both of these keys also increase and widen our own social networks (no, I’m not talking about social media ones!) and give a sense of belonging that many people may find difficulty searching.

Suggested ways – volunteer in shelters and soup kitchens, budget a reasonable amount for regular gift giving, reconnect with old friends.

2.)    Be Active and Try Things – exercising and getting fit not only have physical benefits, they also have emotional and mental benefits as well. Getting an endorphin and adrenaline high can not only improve the mood at that moment, but also strengthen the body which in turn will also improve mental well-being. And you don’t need to be a triathlete or a gymrat to do this. Just be active in your own realistic ways! And once you’re active, try out new things. Learning skills and achieving milestones also brings us happiness and a sense of discovery, and in some cases, it is the key to discovering one’s true passions that can lead to an even happier life.

Suggested ways – get a gym membership, go on regular walks with the dog, attend workshops, go back to school, go on hikes, enjoy nature.

3.)    Increase Awareness and Appreciation – there is more to life than what your eyes glance at as time whizzes by. The proverbial “stop and smell the roses” saying applies here! Increase your awareness through meditation, slow down your day to appreciate the many different things that are present in our world. When was the last time you paused and simply listened to birds chirping over breakfast? The last time you walked to work and smelled the different aromas of the city? Things like this. And once you appreciate what you have, what you experience everyday, it can make you a lot happier.

Suggested ways – walk to work sometimes, go to a park and read a book, find hidden places, engage in your hobby.

The Inward Keys

These are the things we do inward towards us, our mind and soul.

1.)    Accept Yourself, Find Meaning – we have to accept the fact that all of us are made, raised, and live differently, with even the slightest of nuances that differ us from the rest, despite what societal norms try to dictate. We should not compare who we are on the inside with what we see from other people outside. Accept who you truly are, what your heart really tells you, and it is the very powerful thing. And it is in accepting who we really are can we start to find meaning in our lives, what we are meant to do and give back to this world.

Suggested ways – meditate regularly, find like-minded peers and engage them, take time off and go on vacation, unleash your spirit to the universe.

2.)    Be In Touch With Ups And Downs – our lives will be an emotional rollercoaster ride. It won’t always be good, and it won’t always be bad, unless we choose to do nothing about it. Having the right attitude in experiencing the ups and downs, being grateful and sharing the positive emotions, and being strong and reaching out when needed during the negative emotions, trains our mind and soul to be stronger, bounce back better, and be happier in the long run.

Suggested ways – reflect, meditate, recall past experiences

3.)    Plan Your Path – having a compass for your life goal can be a daunting task, but once written down, or planned ahead, you will find that when you achieve milestones that adhere to this compass, each one will bring you happiness and joy. So have that plan ahead!
One more thing is to regularly enjoy life’s small joys, like listening to good music. This binaural beats track for happiness can help give you a nice full dose of happiness every day!
