New Year's Resolution: Strengthen Your Desire For Change With Mindfulness Meditation

http://brainwavepowermusic.com/subscribe
Every new year, people make new year's resolutions. But more often than not, these resolutions don't get achieved. In fact, many don't even last very long at all! Why? Because many times, the desire and cravings for old habits are not overcome, and it's easy to fall back to the old ways that keep us from losing weight, getting more successful, and more. There is a tool that can help however, a tool everyone can use to make their 2016 new year's resolution complete: mindfulness meditation.

What is mindfulness?

Put it simply, mindfulness is exerting effort to focus one's attention towards something specific. Thoughts that may end up distracting the person are deliberately nudged away to be able to focus. This is usually associated with time, focusing one's attention on the present moment, but can be used for everything else.

When mindfulness is used as meditation, that is, contemplating in a peaceful yet controlled manner, the addiction and craving, it can be a very powerful tool. It is composed of three key elements: remembering, being aware, and putting attention to it. The person needs to be aware of the craving they wish to take control of, put all their attention to it, and remember why they want to take control of it, keeping it in its place.

What mindfulness does in terms of cravings and addiction is they become better in living in the present, not worrying about the future rewards when they satisfy their addiction and not feeling bad about the past givings-in to their cravings. This helps them get rid of the wrong pleasant emotions they feel when they give in to the cravings, and the unpleasant emotions of guilt afterwards.

More importantly, mindfulness meditation increases the person's ability to be more aware of the cravings they are trying to get rid of, or avoid, or reduce. This goes hand in hand with their self-awareness, which has an overall benefit for the person, as they are able to be more accepting of themselves, which leads to less stress and anxiety, and give them more control of their emotions, which in turn strengthens their resolve against their cravings.

It is the exact opposite of what a vicious cycle is!

Enjoy the benefits of meditation in just 15 minutes!

Why are cravings strong?

Depending on what is being craved for, a craving is strong because it comes from the subconscious, after consciously satisfying the body and mind with a certain thing or activity. And when something is desired by the subconscious, it can be very hard to break free from it.

One of the big reasons why cravings are so hard to break off of is the association between the craving, and the reward. Many of us experience rewards on a daily basis, but addicts and cravers desire the rewards beyond simply just liking them. And that's what makes a craving and addiction so powerful, because many times the rewards are thought to be unreachable through any other means.

How to perform mindfulness meditation

Mindfulness meditation is done almost like any other meditation method, which we outlined in a previous blog post here. But in general, it involves the following basic steps:
  1. Sitting comfortably with good posture, depending on the kind of meditation selected.
  2. Controlled, deep breathing to relax the mind and body
  3. Focusing on the breath and nothing else (at least in the beginning.) Anything related to the breathing (how it fills the lungs with air, how the air rushes in the nostrils, for example) can be used as focal points.
  4. When the mind begins to wander, or more importantly, think about the craving, this is when extra steps are to be taken. Depending on your level of mindfulness or control, this can be any of the following:
      • gently nudging your mind away from thinking about the craving and focusing on the breathing.

      • focusing on the triggers of the craving. Why did you think and feel about the craving despite meditating and focusing on the breathing?

      • recognizing the emotions that arise from feeling the craving. Did you feel excited at the prospect of giving in? Do you feel angry or frustrated that you're meditating instead of indulging?

      • taking control and telling yourself that you are not your craving and your addiction, and that you dictate whether or not it makes you happy.

Mindfulness meditation is really about what the name implies: being more mindful. It is about focusing and recognizing the craving, and dealing with it. Try it for anything that you feel is starting to take control of your life, rather than the other way around, and it can do wonders to your new year's resolutions! Be inspired to manifest positive change in your life with the help of this binaural beats track.

The Power of Manifestation is widely used for achieving goals, but many think that merely thinking about it is enough. It is not. Using creative visualization greatly helps to give more confidence, focus, inspiration and motivation needed to really reach your desired goals. It clears a path for you. Using Brainwave Entrainment beats that range from 6Hz - 10Hz, which are directly associated with Creative Visualization, and the binaural frequency of Mars at 144.72Hz, this supports strength of will, focused energy, and ability for achievement. The Law of Attraction nicely binds together with Creative Visualization. Change your vibration into a rich, successful, happy you. Think and Act it out towards your outer world, and experience the goodness you’ll receive to your inner world.

Finding Bliss: The Paths To Happiness And Joy In Life

http://brainwavepowermusic.com/subscribe

To many, the goal in life is simple: to be happy. However, may people seem to have difficulty doing this the way they expect it to be these days, what with busy schedules and bills to pay and whatnot. But there is a secret: the paths to happiness are closer than we think.

The thing about happiness is that it’s both simple to achieve, and yet not, because some of the paths to happiness seem to go against what we may know and have been raised to believe. But when done right, in the right doses, based on what one is capable of doing, these paths to happiness will truly increase your happiness levels to new heights.

There are two kinds of paths to happiness: the paths for others, and the paths for yourself.

The Paths For Others

These are the things that involve our daily activities, things we do to our physical self, do outside to other people, to the world, our expression of self to everyone and everything else.

1.)    Give and Relate – when you care about others and give and extend help, gifts, or assistance. In addition to this, building relationships by relating to others, engaging in their joys, supporting them through their sorrows, and strengthening bonds through love and care, it makes us happy. Both of these paths also increase and widen our own social networks (no, I’m not talking about social media ones!) and give a sense of belonging that many people may find difficulty searching.

Suggested ways – volunteer in shelters and soup kitchens, budget a reasonable amount for regular gift giving, reconnect with old friends.

2.)    Be Active and Try Things – exercising and getting fit not only have physical benefits, they also have emotional and mental benefits as well. Getting an endorphin and adrenaline high can not only improve the mood at that moment, but also strengthen the body which in turn will also improve mental well-being. And you don’t need to be a triathlete or a gymrat to do this. Just be active in your own realistic ways! And once you’re active, try out new things. Learning skills and achieving milestones also brings us happiness and a sense of discovery, and in some cases, it is the path to discovering one’s true passions that can lead to an even happier life.
The Ayurveda Experience will give you the insights to live a healthier, happier life!
Suggested ways – get a gym membership, go on regular walks with the dog, attend workshops, go back to school, go on hikes, enjoy nature.

3.)    Increase Awareness and Appreciation – there is more to life than what your eyes glance at as time whizzes by. The proverbial “stop and smell the roses” saying applies here! Increase your awareness through meditation, slow down your day to appreciate the many different things that are present in our world. When was the last time you paused and simply listened to birds chirping over breakfast? The last time you walked to work and smelled the different aromas of the city? Things like this. And once you appreciate what you have, what you experience everyday, it can make you a lot happier.

Suggested ways – walk to work sometimes, go to a park and read a book, find hidden places, engage in your hobby.

The Paths For Yourself

These are the things we do inward towards us, our mind and soul.

1.)    Accept Yourself, Find Meaning – we have to accept the fact that all of us are made, raised, and live differently, with even the slightest of nuances that differ us from the rest, despite what societal norms try to dictate. We should not compare who we are on the inside with what we see from other people outside. Accept who you truly are, what your heart really tells you, and it is the very powerful thing. And it is in accepting who we really are can we start to find meaning in our lives, what we are meant to do and give back to this world.

Suggested ways – meditate regularly, find like-minded peers and engage them, take time off and go on vacation, unleash your spirit to the universe.

2.)    Be In Touch With Ups And Downs – our lives will be an emotional rollercoaster ride. It won’t always be good, and it won’t always be bad, unless we choose to do nothing about it. Having the right attitude in experiencing the ups and downs, being grateful and sharing the positive emotions, and being strong and reaching out when needed during the negative emotions, trains our mind and soul to be stronger, bounce back better, and be happier in the long run.

Suggested ways – reflect, meditate, recall past experiences

3.)    Plan Your Path – having a compass for your life goal can be a daunting task, but once written down, or planned ahead, you will find that when you achieve milestones that adhere to this compass, each one will bring you happiness and joy. So have that plan ahead!

Start your path to happiness now, with the help of our feel good binaural beats track for happiness, "Rays Of Sunlight."

Start giving those bouts of depression a shove out the door and feel freedom from the negative state of mind and emotions that are brought about. Using binaural beats and isochronic tones found in the Alpha Range, we have created a music therapy track to provide you with feelings of unity, balance, harmony with self, positive thinking, mood elevation, stress reduction, and promotes mental resourcefulness. Feel at ease and feel good as you let your mind relax and focus on the tones and the music. Why Do We Have Recurring Dreams?

http://brainwavepowermusic.com/subscribe
Our dreams are caused, and affected by, many things in our lives, from our memorable experiences, to unresolved issues in the past and the present, to fears about the future. Even the start of our lucid dreams, before we achieve lucidity, are affected the same way. But what happens when certain dreams repeat regularly, almost always exactly the same way? What are the causes of this and what can we do about it?

Attention grabber

Many experts believe that, because dreams are caused by our experiences and fears that a recurring dream is probably caused by the same triggers being unresolved or unfixed. A recurring dream sends a message for the dreamer that has been ignored, and will keep on repeating, saying “Pay attention to me!” until something is done about it.

There are basically two kinds of recurring dreams:

A pleasurable recurring dream, such as that of traveling to a magnificent place, or being intimate with someone specific, means something positive that needs to be addressed. For example, a recurring dream about a beautiful specific place might mean that the person needs to go on a vacation back to that place where they have been to, or to be in a place similar to have a positive effect on their life.
Learn the skills to unlock lucid dreaming fast and easywith the Lucid Dreaming Fast Track!
As well, a dream about being intimate about someone specific, such as a celebrity or an athlete, may mean that the dreamer may need to pursue or integrate a specific aspect or feature, whether masculine or feminine, that the person being dreamt about represented. For example, being intimate with a specific athlete repeatedly might mean that the dreamer must improve their physicality or fitness.  As soon as the dreams stop, it may mean that the qualities they admired and desired from the person they’re dreaming about have been integrated into their lives already, one way or another.

The second kind of recurring dream is much more unpleasant.

Recurring nightmares

From mild anxiety dreams to that of true terror, recurring nightmares also mean unresolved tasks and issues that need attention, or fears that need to be addressed. Especially notable are those who experienced trauma, such as returning soldiers or anyone who has PTSD; they will often have nightmares that replay the traumatic events they went through.

Achieving lucidity and facing these crippling nightmares head on can be a chance to improve the well-being of the dreamer, as a way to deal with the unresolved issues. For instance, a dream about being chased by something can be turned into a chance to build courage by being lucid, turning around, and facing the chaser head on. But the best way is to try and deal with the main cause of the recurring nightmare head on when you wake up.

However, milder anxiety dreams that are recurring often mean something easier to deal with in the waking world that need to be resolved fast, and sometimes the dreams still occur even after those tasks have been finished. This is often because the mind decompresses from the daily events it has processed, and is trying to clear itself for the next day.

Whether it’s a pleasant or unpleasant dream, recurring dreams speak messages that need to be heard. Listen to them and make your life better in the process! And when the dream is a nightmare, face it head on by lucid dreaming with the help of our lucid dream track.

The Quasar Pulse Lullaby track was inspired by the metaphysical notions of astral projections and lucid dreaming experiences by people who have traveled through the cosmos. This 4-part track contains brainwave entrainment frequencies that coincide with the different stages of sleep and REM. Prominent throughout the track are dream enhancing binaurals that will help your mind in exercising its imagination. Breathe deep. Relax. Looking To The Heavens: How The Stars Affect Our Lives

http://brainwavepowermusic.com/subscribe

Since time immemorial, mankind has looked up at the heavens at night, amazed at the unreachable lights we call the stars. And ever since, civilizations the world over believed, and continue to believe, that the stars influence our lives, whether directly or indirectly. But how is this possible, and is it really the case? Do stars traversing the heavens really affect our lives?

We the star children

Scientifically, everything that exists on our planet -the mobile phone you’re holding, the bed you sleep in, even the baby you hold in your arms, and the entire world as a whole- came from the stars. All the matter in our planet and in the cosmos came from the stars, and this is because the basic building blocks of existence make up the stars themselves.
So we are, fundamentally, are children of the stars (in this case, our sun) and are made up of star matter. And because, it is stated that energy cannot be created nor destroyed, only transformed, we are also made up of the same energy as our sun and the stars above. This energy is perhaps the reason why we feel an affinity to the stars, and activates our deepest desires to figure out the answers to the questions of the universe whenever we look up at night.

How the stars affect us

Our universe is governed by four major forces, according to science: gravity, electromagnetism, nuclear-strong, and nuclear-weak. Both gravity and electromagnetic forces, which the stars greatly influence, can affect objects vast distances away. So if the stars do affect us, it will be because of either of these two, from a scientific standpoint that is.

Combine the Power of Hypnosis, Lucid Dreaming, Meditation, Astral Projection, Astral Sex, The Third Eye and the Akashic Records to bring Peace, Clarity, Balance and Happiness back to Your Life.
But even before scientists came up with these four forces, ancient cultures have already theorized something very similar; the “aether”, a universal force that binds everything in the universe together through the emptiness of space, has been in the psyche of humanity since the dawn of mankind, predating even the Egyptian cosmological studies and principles. The aether theory has survived the millennia, and has taken different forms depending on the field of study, such as the cosmic consciousness ideology which states that there is a universal mind that connects all thinking beings together.

As stated earlier, everything is made up of, and share the same, energy as the one that came from the stars. Everything contains energy and it is this energy that permits anything in the universe from existing and happening! And our ancient ancestors noticed that certain events trigger when a star or constellation falls into a specific configuration, and that babies born under the same star events share similar characteristics, regardless if it is of different years, as long as it is of the same time period.

This is the foundation of astrology, which over the millennia has predicted events of a person’s life depending on their zodiac sign.

Are our fates fixed then?

Many people think that because our lives are influenced by the stars, that our destinies or fates are fixed.  After all, if the cosmic energy is that strong, are we not bound to what the universe has in store for us?

Simply put, no. While the stars may influence who we are, and how we live our lives, ultimately we are creatures with free will, and it is up to us if we are to use the gifts and traits the stars have imparted to us, or discard them. It is up to us to heed our inner voice’s calling, or to follow the mind instead of the heart.

The stars may affect us, but we are not ruled by them.

Enjoy a journey through the stars, right in your own home, by listening to our binaural beats track for deep sleep and relaxation, "Star Dusts."

A simplified brainwave entrainment track made to give deep relaxation, overall balance of well-being and good feelings, using frequencies of 2.5Hz to 3.5Hz. These binaural beats and isochronic tones are also used to gain a sedative effect, pain relief, a remedy for depression and produces endogenous opiates. It is also based on one of the Earth's Resonances which stimulates the DNA code of our system and will leave you with a feeling of unity with everything.

Can Our Dreams Affect Our Reality?

http://brainwavepowermusic.com/subscribe
Many of us know and experience that what we experience in our reality affects what we dream about. For many, a wonderful or terrifying experience in reality can get replayed in various intensities in our dreams. But is the other way around possible? Do our dreams affect our reality, similar to how our reality affects our dreams?

As outside, so inside

In 2001, a neurologist named Patrick McNamara made a hypothesis based on the idea that social relationships experienced by people impact the dreams they experience, with 300 students categorized based on the level of their relationship security as well as if they felt alone or comfortable in their daily lives; the categories were secure or insecure, and the study found that students with an insecure level of social attachment had more dreams when they slept, and those dreams were dreary, traumatizing, and more intense than the dreams of the secure group.

The study supposed that it can be a cycle, with the social disparity causing traumatic dreams, which in turn affect social relationships even more. The same can be said for the secure group as well.

There was another research done regarding amnesiacs and those with involuntary mental and physical disorders, like Tourette’s. This study aimed at figuring out why the dreams of these patients were bizaare and odd. They came to the conclusion that these people keep memories in their subconscious, and during dream time, their minds were trying to access these memories and putting them back in place, but like puzzle pieces that don’t fit, produce an incoherent result.  And like the study above, this may affect the way these people live their lives in their reality; the insomniac struggling to sleep due to the conscious mind working on overdrive, which affects their waking mood, for instance.

Learn the skills to unlock lucid dreaming fast and easywith the Lucid Dreaming Fast Track!
From dreams to reality
One study that can be considered as one of the most potent pieces of evidence for dreams affecting reality was done in 2004 by the group of Mark Blagrove, Laura Farmer, and Elvira Williams. A study of around 140 students, who, for two weeks, filled up a questionnaire every morning as soon as they woke up, showed that there was a strong connection between the number of nightmares each subject had and how their well-being was during the day. Worse nightmares had worse evaluations and states of well-being, leading some to believe that their moods may possibly be affected by what they dream about.

Some skeptics claim that it is the other way around, that their nightmares might be the result of their mental state, and not vice-versa, but the proponents of the study propose that the correlation of nightmare to mood the following day cannot be ignored. It is a glimpse of how dreams affect our reality.

As of the moment, aside from these studies that were done and are ongoing, there is no solid evidence yet that states dreams can affect our reality. But the mood bad or good dreams bring, can be considered as such. So one  way for us to have a good reality, is to keep on having good dreams. And our binaural beats tracks for good dreams, like this one, can help with that.

Plan Ahead: How To Use Lucid Dreams In Making Life Decisions

http://brainwavepowermusic.com/subscribe

There will be times when we might feel lost and confused about what to do with our lives. Oftentimes this happens when we feel like we need to make great changes, but cannot, due to fear or uncertainty. But there is a way for us to deal with these fears and actually take steps to find out what to do with our lives: by planning ahead with lucid dreaming!

Dream testing

Lucid dreaming allows the dreamer to be in control of their dreams, to do anything from practice life and work skills to traveling to distant lands to even experiencing living a different life. And these are the elements of lucid dreaming that can precisely help with mapping out a life plan: testing!

Any decision, situation, and scenario that can be thought of involved in the path of the life plan can be tested and experienced in lucid dreaming, and can give the dreamer an insight on to how to solve problems, go about tasks, and how it feels to succeed when milestones are gained. This can give the dreamer the chance to foresee their life plan if it is truly what they want, and make adjustments if necessary!

Plan ahead

The first thing to do when mapping out a life plan is to accept the fact that change might be needed, in varying degrees that may be uncomfortable, at first. We have a previous article detailing how to make changes for the better, which you may find here, that can help with this aspect of the planning process.

But in general, here are 5 easy steps in mapping out a life plan.
Learn the skills to unlock lucid dreaming fast and easywith the Lucid Dreaming Fast Track!
1.)    Understand your wants and needs and what makes you happy – what exactly do you want and need for your life? What can make your life happy? List down all aspects of it, your physical life, emotional life, spiritual life, and how they intertwine with one another. List everything down and be truthful to yourself, don’t hold back. After all, this is your life!

2.)    List down all your strengths and skills – what are you good at? What are you passionate about that you can back up with skills and talents? It is imperative to be honest with yourself about your own strengths and weaknesses, as it is these strengths that will bring you ever closer to your goals and keep you moving forward with your life plan.

3.)    Outline your solid goals, think two to three steps ahead – don’t just write “I want to be happy.” Consider steps 1 and 2, and list goals that will lead to other elements that will make you happy. For example, a man passionate about arts and is good at painting may have a goal that says “I want to create paintings that will sell in galleries and bring me money to buy a house in 5 years”, instead of just saying “I want to paint and earn.” And make sure to make these goals detailed once an initial outline is made. With the given example above, it can be made even more detailed by adding the names of the galleries where the artwork will be sold, what kind of paintings will be made, and what kind of house and how big is the goal.

4.)    Make sure your life plan addresses all your wants and goals – a life plan is not just about career, or passions, or monetary success. A life plan should address all the aspects of your life, in order to bring you true happiness.

5.)    Test out the plan in lucid dreams! – once you have your life plan mapped out, with all the steps you intend to take, you can regularly fine tune and tweak the plan by lucid dreaming it! For example, if your life plan includes something like “I want to be happy composing music and performing in bars around town for money and fulfillment”, you can test this scenario in your dreams and see how you will feel about it. Did it make you happy experiencing it? Keep it in the plan! Did it feel like it lacks something? Find out and add it to the plan. Was it not what you thought it would be? Then remove it or change the plan!

Do this process often and you can be confident that your plans can be more relied on. Just be sure you are lucid dreaming it properly! Use one of our binaural beats for lucid dreaming tracks to help you out.

Get Blissful Sleep with this full 8-hour music therapy track that uses the brainwave entrainment frequencies that are associated with the Five Stages of Sleep. Feel recharged and well-rested upon waking. This track is divided into multiple parts, wherein each segment follows the brainwave sleep cycles. Stage 1 has 4-7Hz which will help you relax and fall asleep. Stage 2 uses 12-16Hz which makes the physical body in deep slumber. This is where some REM and sleep paralysis occurs. Sleep Paralysis is simply your mind being wide awake all of a sudden while your body is still asleep. Stage 3 is your overall deep sleep and uses 0.5-4Hz. This is the dreamless stage of sleep. Stage 4 is the deepest sleep stage, where your energy replenishes itself both physically and mentally. Stage 5 is where most REMs and dreams occur. If you are woken up during this REM stage, you will be able to fall back into deep sleep easily. REM is very important to maintain a healthy brain. Listen with or without headphones and set your volume at a comfortable low setting.

The Venerable Sun: Understanding The Solstice And Equinox

http://brainwavepowermusic.com/subscribe

Many of us have heard the words before: solstice, equinox. To the average person, it is known that they are somehow connected to seasons, and of a mystical sort (after all, just the sound of it feels like it came out of some ancient tome!) but what exactly are the solstices and equinoxes? And how did it get its mystical reputation?

It’s all about the sun

Both the solstice and equinox happen twice in one year, and indicate where the Sun is in relation to our planet, thereby affecting the seasons.

The solstices indicate how far north or south the Sun is, and affects the time between sunrise and sunset. They also mark the start of two seasons for the Northern Hemisphere: the Summer Solstice marks the start of summer, (June 21), and is when the Sun is farthest north and the daytime is longest. The Winter Solstice marks the start of winter (December 21/22), and when the Sun is farthest south and the daytime is shortest. For the southern hemisphere, these dates are reversed.

The equinoxes are the times of the year when day and night times are of pretty much equal length, because the Sun is at the equator, being equidistant from the north and south poles, and marks the start of the other two seasons: for the northern hemisphere, the Spring Equinox (March 20) marks the start of Spring, when the Sun begins crossing the equator northward, and the Autumn Equinox (September 22) which marks the start of Autumn and when the Sun moves south of the equator. For the southern hemisphere, simply reverse the dates and directions the Sun is moving.

With these dates marking the start of seasons, which for many ancient cultures marked the beginning of great change in their way of lives, it is easy to see why these dates were tied to mysticism and spirituality during the early age of mankind.

Significance for spirituality

To many cultures, both ancient and modern, the Sun is the source of all life and light. It is the lifegiver, the warmthbringer, and most importantly, the thing that makes cultivating and harvesting food possible. These reasons are what have placed great importance on the equinoxes and solstices, and what have given them ties to finding spirituality or exploring mysticism.

All across the globe, from ancient Egypt to Britain, from the Americas to Asia, from Easter Island to Australia, civilizations and societies have built numerous megalithic structures, temples, stone circles, inner sanctums, and even major rock-face monoliths, all in veneration of the solstices and equinoxes. In many cases, religions and beliefs have been made around, or even adapted to, the dates of the solstices and equinoxes. The pagan beliefs of the birth of Mithra on December 25, which is near the Winter Solstice for instance, was when the Christian faith placed the birth of Christ at, and the celebration of Easter, which was when Christ was resurrected, is near the Spring Equinox. The name Easter itself is from the pagan Spring Goddess named Ostra/Eostre/Eastre, who was also celebrated during the Spring Equinox. These are just a pair of examples of how the solstices and equinoxes have played a part in many cultures’ spiritual and mystical practices.

Many also believe that, due to the distance of the Sun during these times, the cosmic energies that radiate into the planet are also affected, and as such, have different effects on the mystical and occult practices of various faiths and beliefs.  Try meditating or astral projecting during one of these dates and see for yourself! Beyond Christmas: The Pagan Origins Of The Yuletide Season

http://brainwavepowermusic.com/subscribe
To many, hearing the words “Yuletide Season” means one thing: Christmas time! But at with all things, everything is not all it seems, and known to only those who would do research, the yuletide season, or Yule, actually has pagan origins, and is not just about the holiday we know as Christmas.

The Winter Solstice

The Yule is actually in celebration of a cosmic event called the winter solstice. This is the time when, as the Sun traces out a circular path in a west-to-east direction relative to the stars, the two points of the ecliptic farthest north and south from the equatorial plane divide the ecliptic into four equal parts with the two points of the ecliptic and equatorial plane.

One of these points is the winter solstice, which occurs during December 21 and marks the start of the winter season, and is the shortest day of the year. Because of this phenomenon, ancient civilizations have placed it in such a high regard, celebrating it by building monuments, ceremonies, and more.

Many cultures celebrate Yule as one of the low points of the wheel of life (winter) and that at that point, there is something to celebrate as with the low point comes the celebration of life and rebirth at the end.

Effects on other civilizations

Yule has been interpreted and celebrated by different cultures in their own unique ways; these religions are often referred to as pagan these days. The Romans, for instance, celebrated Saturnalia, a feast for the god Saturn, who is the god of agriculture and harvest, Juvenalia, a feast for the children, and the birth of Mithra, one of Rome’s most sacred days. Coincidentally, Saturnalia is celebrated for a week from December 17-23, and the birth of Mithra on December 25. Sounds familiar doesn’t it?

The Norse also celebrated Yule, which started on December 21, exactly during the winter solstice, all the way through January. In fact, the Norse’s Yule celebration is what is most known all over Europe’s pagans today, with the early European pagans celebrating solstice with Newgrange tomb and Stonehenge. The Scandinavians knew that the sun’s return from winter signaled new planting and harvesting, and a celebration of plenty rather than lean.

Today, Yule is celebrated, as mentioned, by most modern countries as Christmas season. But even this is influenced by pagans. For instance, Yule is a 12 day holiday, which starts on December 21, and ends 12 days later, on Yule night. This 12 day celebration is the source of the beloved idea of the “12 days of Christmas.”

The reason why Yule is celebrated by Christians all over the world is that, early Christians, wanting to convert pagans to Christianity, adopted the pagan holidays as their own, to make it more acceptable for the pagans. For instance, many scholars already proposed that Jesus Christ wasn’t born on December 25. You know who was celebrated to have been born on December 25? Rome’s Mithra. And that is just an example.

So this Christmas season, think of Yule and its origins, and be more informed of this most festive of holidays! And what better way to make your festive season even more solemn than with a Winter relaxation track.

Change Is In The Wind: Signs That Change Is Needed, And What To Do

http://brainwavepowermusic.com/subscribe

In our world, and in our lives, nothing is permanent. Change, as we all have experienced, is inevitable. However, while that might be the case, many of us cannot easily recognize when it is time for a change, whether it's at work, for your passion, your relationship, and even your possessions and where you live. And if they do know that change is needed, they do not easily know what to do!

Here is our guide to help you with the inevitability of change.

Symptoms

Life will give us signs and symptoms for us to recognize in order to execute change. Whenever you feel a few of these, then it is time:

  1. Life feels uncomfortable somehow – this is a general sign that will often be the first. When we feel that we are uncomfortable despite everything we have done or are doing with our lives. This can come from anywhere and at anytime, and is usually a signal that there is a higher calling than what you are doing right now.
  2. Feeling disconnected – tied in to #1, this happens when the mind subconsciously decides that the people you surround yourself with are not really the people your soul is meant to be with. Perhaps it is searching for more like minded and like-souled individuals, hence a calling for change.
  3. Lack of feeling of acceptance and understanding – conversations with friends and colleagues don’t turn out the same as before, and you feel like you are an outcast because of your ideas or beliefs.

  4. No satisfaction in accomplishments – usually tied in with work or career, accomplishing bottomlines and goals don’t feel the same as they used to, and in fact make you even sadder and more disappointed.
  5. Unhappiness – everything from the things you have to the money in your bank account, whether too much or enough, isn’t giving you joy anymore.
Usually when any or all of these are felt, it is the universe calling for us to change, perhaps to find our true purpose in life, or to simply have a change in mindset.

Enjoy the benefits of meditation in just 15 minutes!
Cure

Change is rarely easy, and comfortable. However, when the steps taken are done, it can open doors and possibilities that would otherwise not be seen.
  1. Be truthful, admit your feelings – sometimes it is difficult to accept what we feel as truth, rather than just a fleeting emotion. Accepting is the first step to open yourself up for true change.

  2. It's not wrong to want what you want – it is important to have a roadmap for what you truly want in life. When you take this step, don’t doubt, just list the things that your know deep in your heart you desire the most, not out of some superficial wanting, but because it is truly what your life is for.
  3. Throw away the old – the old ways, the old things that don’t work in your life, the old things that cause sadness and doubt, prepare to let these things go, despite being attached to them after many years.

  4. Take the big leap – this is the most important step. To actually take the leap of faith and begin your new journey for changing for the better. Whether this is a new career move, letting go of relationships, or simply taking the plunge and totally changing, this is it.

  5. Again, be truthful to yourself -  letting go of the old and engaging in the new without judging yourself for any mistakes you may make is important. You are in the process of recreating yourself at this point, and know that this is all part of the re-learning process of the new things you will engage in.

  6. Stick to the path – sometimes in the process of change, you will be tempted to fall back to the old ways. Remember that you discarded them for a reason, and while it might seem safe and comforting at the start, dwelling on the old will not help you move forward.

  7. Be with the right support system – it is important to find a support system to be able to push you to your goal of change. Being with the old crowd that made you feel different and unaccepted is not going to help. Find people with the same goals as you and thrive!

  8. Express your emotions – relish in the passion and love for yourself and the new changes you are going through. This is what will push you even further, as, especially in the beginning, when everything is shaky and uncertain, it is your passion and love for yourself and your own well-being that will propel you forward, to change for the better!
Change, done right, is good. Have the right mindset for change by meditating on your life, with the help of this binaural beats track for meditation and positive change.
