What Is Qi? What Are The Benefits Of Controlling Qi?

We've all heard it before: “energy”, “spirit”, “essence”, “soul.” But all of these things refer to one thing, which traces its roots back to traditional Chinese culture: Chi. Also known as Qi, or Ki in some cultures, Chi, translated literally, means “breath” or “air”, the life force or energy flow that fills every living thing. But while this concept sounds like some mumbo-jumbo to many skeptics, in recent years science has shown some evidence that reveals the very concepts of Chi itself. But what exactly is Chi? And why is it important for us?

What Is Qi?

The concept of Qi is simply the life process or the “flow of energy” that is found within all living things. While the concept itself is of Asian origin, it is also found in other cultures, like in ancient Greece and India, and found in Jewish and to an extent Christian traditions. The “life force” is not just within each living thing, but also serves as a connection to other living things and their surroundings. This means that everyone and everything is part of the cosmic network, where the one affects the many, and ripples in the events of the world eventually reach everyone else.

Qi is also said to have different categories, can be turned into many different forms of matter or energy, can be used to heal or destroy, and can be used to extend life and, in some cases, even slow the effects of aging.

Harnessing And Using Qi

Being able to harness the power of Qi gives the person the ability to enjoy its benefits in many different ways. And there are many avenues that people can employ to be able to harness Qi.

1.)    Feng Shui – one of the most common ways to harness Qi is through Feng Shui, which is the art of properly arranging a space and choosing proper placement of objects and any other elements. It can be employed from a small room to whole complexes like commercial centers and condominiums. The concept behind Feng Shui is balancing the flow of Qi, to be able to have it interact properly with the 5 elements of Chinese tradition, have it flow in the right directions, and so on. Properly retaining or dissipating Qi in key points is believed to affect everything from the health of the occupants to the wealth that comes in the area, to the overall luck of the vicinity.

2.)    Martial Arts – another common way to harness Qi is with martial arts. There are many martial arts, both Eastern and Western, that use Qi whether they know it or not. It is known as the explosive use of the internal energy, and can be commonly seen when one sees or hears a martial artists “yell” during a move. Qi can be used in martial arts many different ways, from turning flesh impervious to damage, to making heat radiate from the palms or other areas, to being able to achieve feats of strength that can commonly be associated with superheroes, like punching through walls of stone.

3.)    Qigong/Tai-chi/Active Meditation – all referring to virtually the same thing, qigong is the concept of uniting proper movement, breathing, meditation, and cosmic awareness, which is said to balance and even increase one's Qi. It can be described as a combination of martial arts, meditation, and personal feng shui, qigong is a method that anyone can do. It can also promote relaxation, heal the body of its ailments, and in advanced levels, actually slow down aging. This is why people see a lot of elderly qigong and tai-chi practitioners in parks all over Asia!

Cultivating and harnessing Qi is a valuable skill that people can learn and benefit from. Binaural beats can help in this regard. This binaural beats track for energy and health can augment your efforts for harnessing Qi when you listen to it.

Using the "Balance Frequency" as the carrier tone, this track was created to provide an overall sense of well-being using Healing Frequencies for the binaural beats and isochronic tones in the Alpha range. The Earth Resonance of 7.83 is also prominent in this track, which is associated with grounding, improvements in stress tolerance, pituitary stimulation that assists in developing muscle, recovery from injuries and gives rejuvenating effects.

How To Increase Study Time With Lucid Dreaming

There are only 24 hours in one day. And while for many this might be enough, for many more, it is not. Especially for students who are struggling with school, who can quickly find themselves swamped with so much schoolwork and assignments that make it seem like 24 hours is not even close to being enough. Oftentimes the need to sleep overtakes the need to study, and can cause students to fall behind, if not outrightly fail, due to not having enough time to learn before exams or projects. But what if you can continue studying and learning, even while you sleep? This is very possible with lucid dreaming!

Why lucid dreaming?

Lucid dreaming is the ability to shape and gain control of your dreams, to be able to have an experience that is so close to realism that it seems like the dream world is more real than the waking world. While this has many other applications, such as being able to time travel, being able to live in your favorite movies, TV shows, and books, and even lose weight, lucid dreaming can be most useful to students in the form of increasing not just their study time, but also improving the quality of learning during the dream. This is by creating a dream that allows them to be able to recall, learn, and absorb what they wish to study, and even enhance the way they do it with a variety of different means (see below.)

How does it work?

One of the key things that allow lucid dreamers to have “more time” to study while they dream is the altered perception of time. When people dream (whether a regular or lucid dream), the perception of time is altered, more often than not, it seems and feels like a lot more time has passed than it really has. If you recall the plot of the movie Inception, wherein the various layers of dreams within dreams stretched the experience of time even more, this is the idea. So while you may only actually dream for an hour or so, -a person doesn't dream from the moment they fall asleep, this is a misconception- depending on the dream experience, it may seem like days, months, even years have passed.

Imagine having that kind of “time stretching” ability, and using it to study and learn? Wouldn't that be useful?

Now, I know what you might be thinking: how can what you learn or study in a dream actually translate to the real world, if at all? Will you actually be able to recall and recover whatever it is you learned and experienced in the dream and make use of it?

In our previous posts we discussed being able to use lucid dreaming for a variety of ways, like losing weight, improving athletic abilities, or pursuing artistic passions. The same principles apply when using lucid dreaming to study and learn school subjects! That is, being able to create the scenario that will be conducive to learning, actually engaging in the act of learning or studying, and then recalling what you have experienced in a lucid dream journal for reference.

Basic steps and principles

The primary requirement to be able to do this is the ability to lucid dream. You can find the basic steps for lucid dreaming and preparing your room for lucid dreaming in our previous posts. Once you have learned to perform lucid dreaming, here are the basic steps that can serve as a guideline for you to be able to study while lucid dreaming.

  1. Set your intent early – this tip has been recommended numerous times before, and for good reason. To be able to fully maximize the lucid dream experience, you should set the intent as early as possible. That is, the intent to dream about something specific, which in this case is to dream about what you wish to study. A good way to do this is to start the day with a mantra, like, “I will dream about this subject...” and constantly reinforcing this during the day by reading up on your notes when you can.
  2. Prepare your method of studying – this is a crucial step as it will determine the quality of learning you get. Before actually entering the lucid dreamworld, you should have an idea on how you want to be able to study. Are you a more tactile learner, that is, you learn faster when you touch and manipulate things? Or are you a reader wherein you learn better if you have access to mountains of information? Once you figure out how you learn best, it is important to keep this in mind for use in the dreamworld.
  3. Ready your room – in addition to the basic steps of preparing your room for lucid dreaming, it is important to have as much learning material as possible within close proximity of where you will be sleeping. These can act as lucid dreaming anchors and reminders of what you wish to do when you lucid dream, in addition to your reinforced lucid dream intent. Books, notes, laptops with powerpoint slides, anything, should be on nearby desks and tables in your room.
  4. Perform your reality checks – once you sleep and begin to dream, (following the lucid dreaming steps in our previous posts) it is important to not get lost in the dream and to actually take control! Perform your lucid dream reality checks to be able to enter lucidity faster, and begin studying and learning.
  5. Execute the study session, stretch time – remember your preferred method of studying, and execute it in the dreamworld. A tactile learner can conjure a room with various tools and items that can help in studying, while a reader can create a library of endless books and notes that they can delve into. And there are even more creative ways of learning about certain subjects, like summoning experts like Albert Einstein or Charles Darwin, or time traveling to a historical event and experiencing it first hand, and so on. The possibilities are virtually limitless.

The one thing that needs to be remembered is to stretch the time in order to be able to absorb more information than usual. There are many ways to do this, which is the same principle as time traveling with lucid dreaming, which we have discussed before here. But the basic idea is simple: if you wish to slow down or extend time in the lucid dream, you can, because you are in control!
  6. Record everything in your lucid dream journal – once you wake up, it is important to record your experience in your lucid dream journal as soon as possible. Don't wait too long! When doing this, it is not necessarily required to record straight up facts or information, but rather, record the whole experience itself. What this does is help you recall what you studied in the dream when you re-read your journal, and can greatly enhance your study time in the waking world.

Follow these basic steps and you can extend your study hours, improving your academic performance. Don't forget to include a binaural beats trackfor memory, learning, and cognitive improvement in order to help your study even further, like this track.

This complex music track contains binaural beats and isochronic tone frequencies that range between the Theta and Beta ranges, comprised of 3Hz to 18Hz which flows up and down throughout the entire 3-hour session. It was created to promote and assist in the enhancement of your creativity and focus for studying.

The soothing music accompaniment is intended to make you feel relaxed so as to open your mind and let creative and learning juices flow freely. Since the carrier frequency also relates to Mars, this promotes activity, energy, strength of will, focused energy and ability for achievement.

Your Musical Taste Shows And Affects Your Personality And Behavior

Many people regularly talk about how music affects the personality and lifestyle of its listeners, ranging from friendly discussions between parents and their kids, to congress lobbying to ban certain kinds of music or to at least label and restrict them. For the most part, people have dismissed such claims as paranoia at best, and ludicrous at worst, stating that while genres of music may have immediate effects while being listened to, it does not dictate people’s personality and thinking. But as it turns out, recent studies have shown that musical preference may show the listener’s personality, and in turn, affect the personality of a person as well.

A reflection of the mind

One such study from the University of Cambridge showed a method of determining how people think and act based on the music they like to listen to. The study targeted over 4,000 listeners, and used a Facebook personality test app to give the participants a set of questions to determine specific personality traits. After a set period of time, the participants yet again received another questionnaire, this time with 15-second song snippets from 50 songs that represented up to 26 different genres of music, to see how they’d react and what kind of music they’d prefer. The results of both tests were then matched to see if there are patterns and correlations to personalities and music preferences.

As it turned out, there were correlations. Mellow music listeners, like R&B and slow jazz, exhibit more empathy, while rock, hip-hop, and house music listeners are more systematic and structural in thought. In addition, people on the more empathic side preferred music with less energy and focus more on negative and heavy emotions like depression, while the systematic side reveled in positive energy and emotions, like happiness and strength.

Basically, people who prefer slower, more smooth music, are more emotional, while people who prefer faster, more energetic music are more logical and structural, according to the study.
But while music may be a reflection of one’s personality and thinking, can it really affect one’s personality and thinking as well?

Requiem Mass in D Minor, one of the most famous works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
is an example of classical music that can influence behavior.

Music’s influence

Remember how lullabies can make babies (and even adults) fall asleep, and how a school’s theme song in a sporting event can just lift your heart up and get you ready for battle? Those are examples of music affecting one’s emotions. This, we already know. But can music truly, in the long run, affect someone’s personality and behavior?

The answer is YES.

Brainwave entertainment like Brainwave Power Music’s binaural beats and isochronic tones tracks do this regularly. But aside from this, common genres of music are also known to affect the personality regularly, due to their beat, the tones the use, and the overall composition of the pieces of music. And just like the study we talked about above, many studies in the past have also shown this, and have even come up with a list of what certain genres of music do for the person’s mind and personality. Here are a few examples, in addition to the ones listed earlier.

1.)    Ambient noise promotes creativity – while this is not specifically a genre of music, many musical pieces, including binaural beats tracks, have ambient noises. It was discovered that moderate volume ambient noise greatly promotes creative thinking and abstract processing. Too loud however, and the brain is impaired and overwhelmed with the auditory information. Listening to this regularly will greatly improve creativity even without musical assistance.

2.)    Worship music alleviates emotional anxieties – sadness, depression, and a constantly negative personality can be alleviated by worship-music. Studies have shown that people who attend fellowships and engage in the listening and singing of worship music have improved levels of happiness and those with anxiety problems have felt improvements in their own personal feelings, after consistently attending and listening to the songs.

3.)    Rock music improves personal motivation – the high energy pace of rock music is not only preferred by systematic people, as indicated above, it also helps in one’s own personal motivation. Constantly listening to rock music greatly strengthens the listener’s emotional and psychological resolve and can help motivate them on a regular basis. Alternatively, people who prefer other equally energetic genres  like hiphop and dance music can also feel the same motivation, as long as it keeps up with a certain tempo and intensity.

The dark side of this is that lyrics can greatly influence the listener as well. Songs with negative lyrics or messages, when constantly listened to, becomes ingrained in a person’s psyche and can be subconsciously recalled. So it is also important to make sure lyrics are taken into consideration when listening to songs.

One good way to ensure you get the necessary results is to listen to music tracks that are specifically designed to aid your mind and brain, like our binaural beats and isochronic tones tracks. For example, this binaural beats playlist for happiness and love, that we have prepared especially for our fans.

The Heart’s Ocean is a collection of Brainwave Power Music's original music therapy tracks that all relate to the power of the heart, in its deepest emotional or physical or spiritual aspects. The intention in creating these tracks range from desires to self-healing, to self-loving and acceptance, behavioral change and the vast meanings of what Love truly is.

How To Pursue Your Artistic Passions With Lucid Dreaming And Binaural Beats

Many of us have artistic passions we are interested in pursuing, but aren’t, due to a number of reasons. Whether it’s because we don’t have time, or just don’t have the skills or funds to do so, our artistic passions define who we really are inside and it is very important that we at least try to practice them as much as we can. But with very busy schedules, limited energy, and controlled funds, how can we do so? The answer is within us, literally: through lucid dreams and binaural beats!

What are lucid dreams? Binaural beats?
Lucid dreams are dreams where the dreamer is fully aware and in control of their dream. We have discussed this numerous times before, and have many guides that can help, which you can find in our blog. But the most important thing that you need to know about lucid dreams is that the experience feels very, very real, and that whatever the dreamer feels inside the dream translates to real life, in one form or another.

Binaural beats is a form of brainwave entertainment and sound/music therapy that stimulates certain brainwave patterns that have different benefits for the mind and body, ranging from creativity, to memory, to focus, to proper bodily healing, and everything in between. Listening to binaural beats on a regular basis will constantly give these benefits and improve both the mind and body’s capabilities.

How does it work for artistry?
We have previously discussed what lucid dreaming and binaural beats do for athletic performance and losing weight in previous posts. How it works, is that lucid dreaming allows the dreamer to create a dream wherein they are able to do a specific set of movements, whether it be a basketball jumpshot or simply running or controlling their diet and appetite, with binaural beats stimulating specific brainwaves to reinforce what they have done in the dream.

The same works for artistic passions, although there are slight differences that need to be done in order to focus more on the creativity and out-of-the-box thinking that are required for artistic pursuits like painting, sculpting, dancing, singing, and many others.

How to get started
While there are various ways to approach this, lucid dreaming to pursue your artistic passions have basic general steps that need to be followed in order for it to work.
  1. Visualize and set your intent early - As the day starts, reinforce the idea that in the night to follow, you will lucid dream and pursue an artistic passion. This is important as it conditions the mind to work towards this goal for many hours before you actually sleep. Visualize exactly what you want to work on; for example, if you wish to improve your ability to paint, think of painting amazing works on canvas, or draw inspiration from your favorite painters by remembering their work. Keep these things in mind the whole day.

  2. Create a foundation – when you can afford the time, it is good to create a foundation, where you can start your work from in your lucid dream. Depending on the art you wish to pursue, this can be done while you work, or during your lunch break, or even before heading to bed. A foundation is a piece of art you can recall during the dream and work from, like a sketch on a piece of paper, or a basic tune to a song, or the first stanza of a poem, or even just a piece of clay you have started to shape with your hands. Once you have this, keep it with you and remember to place it beside the bed when you sleep.

  3. Prepare the room - to improve your chances at lucidity, it is important to prepare your room properly for lucid dreaming. Our guide to do this can be found here. But what can be done in addition to the tips we have already provided, is to place your artistic paraphernalia in the room as well. For example, painters and illustrators can have a blank canvas, a palette, and even the faint smell of some paint present to help stimulate the dream as you sleep. Musical instruments, pencils and papers, books on poetry, hammers and chisels, all of these can help by stimulating the subconscious as you prepare to sleep. And of course, your foundation should be present as well.

  4. Execute reality checks – once you are dreaming, remember to perform your reality checks. A guide to do this can be found here. Another thing you can check is your foundation! Look or try to recall that work you made prior, and see if you actually can, and if you do, is it distorted, or not as you remember it? If so, this is a sign that you are asleep and dreaming, and can now enter lucidity.

  5. Pursue your passion – now in control of your dream, you can begin. At this point, you can begin to pursue your artistic passion. If you can remember your foundation, you can try to recreate that in your dream, make it better or build on top of it. If not, you can just create a new work of art, limited only by your imagination. Remember, in the lucid dream, there are no mistakes, and whatever your mind conjures up is something that will benefit your skills and abilities. But one thing you should remember, is that you should do the art you wish while lucid dreaming! If it’s painting, then paint. If it’s music, then compose and hear the tunes. The possibilities are endless.

  6. Record everything – when you wake up, do not forget to record your artistic work in your lucid dream journal as soon as you can. And this is beyond just words (unless your artistic passion is writing!) Draw it, play and record it with your musical instrument, write the stanzas down. You’ll be amazed by what is produced!
Do this on a regular basis and very surely your artistic abilities will improve and make you a better and more confident artist! Oh, and one last thing. A binaural beats track for lucid dreaming is very, very useful, like our new track, Float High – Lucid Dream Enhancement Music:

Feel bliss and tranquility as you journey through your dreamscapes tonight. Using a complex series of binaural beat and isochronic tone frequencies, we have divided this music track into four parts. The first part will bring you into a state of deep relaxation, creative inspiration for imagery that you will use for your dreams, and introductory frequencies to help trigger lucid dreams. The second part starts in the Theta range and drops slowly down to the Delta, where deep sleep and lucid dream frequencies can be found. Here, you will have decreased awareness of the physical world and can give an awake awareness to your subconsciousness. The third and fourth parts will continue to flow up and down these Theta and Delta ranges, but focusing more on enhanced inner awareness and easy access to inner resources that will help create the dreamscape. In a spiritual level, these will help you seek inner peace and self-renewal.

How We Create A Binaural Beats & Isochronic Tones Music Track

We at Brainwave Power Music are dedicated to creating binaural beats tracks that will be of great benefit to anyone who listens to them. Many people often wonder how we make our tracks, and when we get asked this by our family and friends, the first thing we say is that we don’t just make the tracks, we feel them as we create and compose them. We let the inner voice’s influence inspire us in creating these tracks; after all, music needs inspiration to truly be effective, as opposed to simply letting a machine manufacture random tones based on cold computer formulae.
Here is a general idea of how our composers, all of whom are lucid dreamers and followers of the principles of meditation and self-realization, create our tracks that we share to everyone.

1.)    Inspiration – the composer listens from within which kind of track they feel they want to create, whether it’s for meditation, lucid dreaming, astral projection, or health and well-being of the physical, mental, or spiritual nature.

Oftentimes the inspiration comes from what the composers feel, and we encourage that, so as to make the track much more natural and inspired. For instance, a composer may feel the need to deal with depression due to an experience or a memory and create an emotional health track, or feel the need to connect with their faith and create a spiritual health track.

Sometimes, our themes are inspired by the fans’ and supporters’ suggestions, telling us what could help them or what they need to help them go through something they are experiencing in this current reality.

Either way, inspiration plays a huge part in our creation process.

2.)    Frequency mixing – once the composer is inspired and a kind of track is decided upon, the next step involves finding the proper frequency mix using binaural beats and isochronic tones. Each frequency level from the Delta, Beta, Alpha, Gamma brainwave levels that have so far been researched has its own connection to a physical, mental, emotional or spiritual state of a person. You can find out more about brainwave patterns in our previous blog posts.

This is why, while each track is conceptualized through inspiration, it takes great skill and careful thought to actually arrange the track, in order to provide the listener with the right type of targeted results.

3.)    Composing the music – after the beats have been established, the composer creates the music. It starts with finding the base chord key or musical note for each type of beats track.  We at Brainwave Power Music ensure that each music composition is uniquely created, since each is based on that single base chord note. This way, the music will not have dissonant chords that are huge discomforts to such music therapy compositions and their purposes. As well, the music also compliments the binaural beats and isochronic tones, and do not clash when listened to.

4.)    Marrying the two – once both the binaural track and music track are finished, we marry the two in such a way that specific time marks throughout the track will elevate and push the listener into different states of being, but still within the chosen theme-category. All throughout, there will be specially added sound elements, like bells or nature sounds or other ambient sounds that are placed carefully to both enhance the track and keep the listener’s comfort at the desired level. The composer takes great care to make sure that the inspiration given by their inner voice, and their own personal creativity and love, are poured into this track.

This way, the end result is not just a binaural beat or brainwave entertainment sound file. It is a musical creation that is both sound therapy AND music therapy combined.

Once the final composition is finished, it is tested on headphones, surround sound speakers, and other ways of listening to ensure the quality desired goes through.

5.)    Adding the final visual touch – before we release the track on our various platforms, we finish it off by creating a fractal image that compliments the track itself. Specific colors from a color therapy guideline are chosen and used in the fractal image creation, which in itself is meant to evoke various thoughts and emotions at a simple glance. Colors and lines and shapes have their own meanings and influential powers on the human mind, and this is why we also consider this image on the final release.

Once these steps are completed, we release the track on our platforms for everyone to enjoy. The creation process from inspiration to composition to finalization is all done through the inner voice’s influence and the composer’s creativity and spirit, making sure that all elements are reflected in the final track. In addition, the composer keeps the welfare of listeners from all over the world in mind; creativity is not made just for the Self, but mainly for Others. Because that is what Brainwave Power Music is all about: taking care of our listeners.

An example of this is one of our creations, Gentle Vibrations – Stress Relief Relaxation Music With Binaural Beats:

Relieve yourself from stress, tension and anxiety with Gentle Vibrations using Alpha binaural beat frequencies, concentrating on the Earth's Resonance of 7.83Hz, which promotes improvement to stress tolerance. As the alpha waves continue to flow between 8Hz to 12Hz, it will provide you with light relaxation, positive thinking, creative problem solving, mood elevation, stress reduction and leaving you in a very deeply relaxed mindset. With a carrier frequency of 136.1Hz, which is also called the Sun Frequency, this makes the music track also applicable to be used before sleeping or during meditation sessions for overall balance, harmony and centering.

How To Be Part Of Your Favorite Movies, TV Shows, And Books With Lucid Dreaming

Many of us are fans of certain film, book, and TV series, because of the worlds that they have and the characters that inhabit them. Whether it’s sci-fi, fantasy, or romance, or a bit of both, these fictional worlds are a draw to many people, but oftentimes they are only experienced on the media they are presented at: on the movie screen, on TV, or on paper. But what if there was a way to be part of these worlds, and experience what the characters do? Or even better, be a character in it as well? Well, you can, with lucid dreaming!

What is lucid dreaming?

Lucid dreaming is a dreamstate in which you are aware that you are dreaming, and as such have the ability to dictate what you will be doing and what you will be experiencing in the dream. Pretty much you are in control! And while some people use lucid dreaming to time travel, or even have lucid dream sex with people they are attracted to, fans of fictional worlds can opt to use lucid dream to be part of their favorite universes and experience them fully.

Some people do so as a character in the story, experiencing what other characters do. Others change the story to suit their desires (this is especially important for Game of Thrones lucid dreamers who have had their hearts broken way too many times due to slain characters) and others simply spectate and watch the story unfold from up close.

Regardless of how they want to use lucid dreaming, lucid dreamers who want to experience their movies, shows, and books, will be able to do so with enough practice.

http://brainwavepowermusic.com/album/272407/travel-through-the-cosmos-lucid-dreaming-8-hours-influential-soundscapes?autostart=true
Using soundscapes of different atmospheric textures to help create your ideal space setting, this album also uses frequencies from the Theta Range that promotes fantasy, imagery, creativity, access to the subconsciousness, and also frequencies from the Alpha Range that promote relaxation, dream enhancers and sleep aids.

Basic steps
Setting up this kind of lucid dream experience starts long before sleeping time. In fact, the more you reinforce your mindset, the higher the chances of getting the lucid dream you want. The steps below assume that you are already somehow experienced with lucid dreaming, but if you aren’t yet, read this basic guide to learn how to lucid dream.

1.)    Set your lucid dream intention early – To instill the idea of lucid dreaming your favorite fictional fantasy world, it is very advisable to start early in the day. This can be done a number of different ways, from simply constantly reminding yourself that “tonight, I will dream about…” to something more powerful like actually watching the movie or show or reading the book with a lot of focus. The options that will be available will vary depending on whether or not you have a busy day, so pick the right one for you. The most important thing is that the fictional world you want to experience is in your head already. Learn more about setting your lucid dream intentions in our previous discussion here.
2.)    Set your room up properly - No use having the lucid dream intention done for the day if your room will be a distraction in itself and pull you out of sleeping. Set your room up properly to induce lucid dreaming faster and better. Our basic guide on how to do this can be found here, but basically the idea is to drown out possible distractions (noise, lights, nosy roommates/neighbors) and to set the mood and environment (proper lighting, music, other sensory stimuli.) This will relax your mind and body better to have a lucid dream experience.
3.)    Perform your reality checks properly – Once you’re sleeping and dreaming, it is important to perform your reality checks ASAP. These are what will trigger the lucid dream. There are many ways to do reality checks, some of which can be found here in our guide. The faster you do a reality check, the sooner you can experience the dream the way you want to!
4.)    Relish the experience, confront the negatives – Once you’re dreaming, enjoy it! Do what you set out to do and do it well. But just like in any story, sometimes bad things happen, and a lucid dream can have nightmarish elements. Rather than scare you, do what your fictional heroes do: confront it! This can be part of the story as well.
5.)    Record your dream after – Just like a movie, tv, or book series, it’s impossible to finish everything in just one lucid dream experience. To be able to easily get back to your favorite fictional worlds, record your dreams in a lucid dream journal. This will not only help you remember and relive your dream experience during the day, you can also use it as part of your lucid dream intention as indicated in step 1!

There’s one more thing you can do to enhance the lucid dream experience -  use a binaural beats track for lucid dreaming to help induce the images you wish to see, like this one:

5 Ways To Fall Asleep Faster

Sleep is an important factor in a person’s mental and physical well-being. So being unable to sleep on time when needed for whatever reasons can be severely frustrating. But when this happens, we don’t just have to wait in bed with our eyes wide open and mind wandering until we fall asleep. There are a few ways we can fall asleep faster, and better, and here is a short list of some of these ways.

1.)    Practice meditation and proper breathing – relaxing techniques like meditation will provide you with ways to drown out unwanted thoughts, make your breathing techniques better, and give you peace of mind which will allow you to fall asleep much faster. However, while most people try to do these relaxing techniques, whether meditation, deep breathing exercises, or any other, right before they are about to sleep, or right when they could not sleep, we suggest practicing these techniques during the day instead, when the mind is busier and more distracted, to be able to practice it at the worst case scenarios. This will allow you to execute these techniques much faster and better at night when you’re about to sleep. A good time to practice during the day is during lunch or afternoon breaks from work or school.

2.)    Drown out all distractions – in a previous post, we discussed how to prepare the room for lucid dreaming. The same techniques used there can be used to make you fall asleep faster, such as eliminating external noise with the use of noise canceling headphones or curtains, making the ambience feel more relaxing with mood lights or incense/fragrances, and having music playing in the background or your headphones, such as binaural beats for sleeping.

3.)    Hide your mobile devices and place the clock far away – highly active and working people will always feel pressure for time. If you always have your mobile devices within your reach, you will end up checking them regularly, for facebook posts, or to see what time it is. Seeing the time dwindle down will make you feel pressured for the next day, which elevates your mind and body’s activity, and will cause you to be more active instead of resting. The same can be said with your clock. So make sure to have your clock and devices far from arm’s reach.

4.)    Have a nice meal and take a nice shower ahead of sleeping time – sometimes people don’t get to fall asleep on time because of pending activities that were done too close to the time they are supposed to sleep. Make sure these activities are done comfortably prior to sleeping time. This will allow the body to trigger the relaxing hormones that can induce sleep. A nice proper meal does this, and makes the body feel relaxed and happy. As well, a nice warm shower will also trigger relaxing feelings that will prepare the body for sleeping.

5.)    Use binaural beats for sleeping – As mentioned earlier, playing music for relaxation can help induce sleeping. But the best kind are binaural beats tracks for sleeping. The way binaural beats tracks for sleeping work is by inducing specific brainwave patterns that control the domains of sleeping and relaxation, and in doing so conditions the mind and prepares it to sleep. Not only that, depending on the binaural beats track for sleep, the track can also improve creativity, increase the body’s healing while it sleeps, helps strengthen focus and memory, and even send you to lucid dreaming and astral projection!

To use binaural beats, follow the tips set on #2, and make sure you have a nice way of hearing them, like a good pair of sleeping headphones or, if the track specifically doesn’t need headphones, a good sound system in your room.

Follow these tips and you can fall asleep in no time! As well, use this binaural beats track for sleeping to help you out.

Feel yourself suspended in animation as the Delta frequencies found in this binaural beat send you off into a deep, dreamless sleep for a full mind and body recharge upon waking. In this track, your whole-being will tune itself to instinctual insight, and can even be conducive to miracle type healing, divine knowledge, inner being and personal growth, feeling one with the universe and sensing bliss in the deep sleep state.

Unlocking Memories With Lucid Dreaming And Binaural Beats

Have you ever had an experience wherein you wanted to recall something in particular, a memory you know you had, but for some reason cannot? When you find yourself saying “it's at the tip of my tongue” or “I know it but I can't seem to remember right now”? That's the mind being unable to tap into a memory, whether because it's a really old one, a memory deemed unimportant, or in some cases, subconsciously repressed due to trauma. Good or bad, these memories are still there, and can be unlocked with the use of lucid dreaming or self-hypnosis and the assistance of binaural beats.

How does it work?

Lucid dreaming gives us the capability to control what we experience in our sleep, and allows us to tap into our subconscious. Self-hypnosis is very similar in terms of capability, but has a different approach. Either way, using whatever method allows our mind to control what we see in our dreams, and in doing so, can give us the chance to revisit lost or long forgotten memories.

Why should I do it?

This aspect of lucid dreaming is something that some people are wary of. To many, memories are forgotten or repressed for a reason, whether because it's associated with a bad experience or trauma, or can result in a cascade of memories that will be unpleasant. But for most people, this isn't the case, and there are many benefits to recalling lost or locked memories.

Have you ever wanted to relive a joyful memory with a loved one who passed on already? Do you want to re-experience the thrill of going on a vacation from long ago that is hard to do now? How about simply enhancing your work or studies by remembering skills and lessons from the past that can be useful with your current endeavors? These are all possible when lucid dreaming and using binaural beats.

Not only that, the process of memory recall with lucid dreaming and using binaural beats also enhances your conscious memory recall. Binaural beats that use the Beta Waves range which governs focus, memory, and recognition trains and conditions the brain to be able to consciously pull memories out of the mind's memory banks at will, which improves your work, your ability to engage in conversations, and most importantly, the ability to retain, and then reuse, skills and knowledge acquired during the day.

Whether it's for work, for reliving experiences, or simply just to improve your memory capabilities, using lucid dreaming and binaural beats for memory recall has a lot of benefits.

The Process

  1. Set up your room for lucid dreaming. We have discussed this process numerous times before, and the steps to do so can be followed here, and here. These steps are important to improve your chances to attain lucidity.
  2. Play a binaural beats track for memory enhancement or memory recall. Our collection here at Brainwave Power Music has a good number of them, an example of which can be found below. Make sure you will be listening to it properly to achieve the full effect.
  3. Set your lucid dream intention to unlock a specific memory. The steps of setting your lucid dream intention can be found here. Any memory you wish to unlock can be set as your lucid dream intention; for example, if during the day there is one particular memory you could not remember, use that as your focal point for your intent.
  4. Follow the steps to achieve lucid dreaming found here, making sure you follow the right reality checks and cues.
Once you enter lucidity, this is where the recall begins. There are many ways that can make this possible, limited only by your imagination!
  1. Talk to your younger self – One popular method which is also used for self-exploration is talking to one's self, more specifically, talking to your younger self. Find or summon your younger self and engage in a conversation with him/her. Remember, people in lucid dreams behave like real people, and don't expect your younger self to simply do what you want! Engage in a proper conversation, ask about the memory you cannot remember, and you may even get something more afterwards.
  2. Travel back in time – We discussed the ability to lucid dream time travel in a previous blog post, and you can use that process to your advantage for this one. Follow the time traveling methods we listed, and jump back in time to when the missing or locked memory happened. You can observe it from a far as a third person, or relive it if you wish!
  3. Create a memory machine – Another method is constructing a device or machine that will tap into your memories. Similar to the movie “Minority Report”, this method will allow you to tap into your memories all at once, and find the missing or locked one that you are looking for. This method, however, is quite risky, as it can unintentionally tap into memories you have suppressed or forgotten for a reason, and may have unpleasant results. To prevent this, be more specific when building the machine, placing guidelines that will prevent bad memories from surfacing.

Upon waking from the lucid dream, make sure you can write down or remember your memory ASAP! We have provided a discussion about using lucid dream journals to recall dreams, which you should use to be able to remember all your unlocked dreams. And make sure you have the right binaural beats track for memory, like this one here:
This track helps you journey in to your inner self and find your balance and centering, and aims to specifically increase self-awareness and stimulate your memories. Perfect for memory recall.

The Beginner’s Guide To Astral Projection (Part 2)

Last time, we discussed the general info about astral projection, from belief to the desire to the relaxation and to the separation. Here in Part 2, we’re going to discuss the step by step process of astral projection, leading up to the separation phase. There are many various methods to do this, but the list below is a basic set of movements that anyone can try. Let’s get right to it!

The set-up

Just like lucid dreaming, it is important to have the right set-up for astral projection. This starts with your room. Our guide to setting up the room for lucid dreaming is virtually the same as setting up the room for astral projection, so you can read more about the details there.  (insert in-link here)
One thing that can truly help in this part is playing a binaural beats track for astral projection. This is an element that can make the separation phase much easier to perform, so make sure a track is ready to be played once you’re ready to begin.

Preparing the body

Once your room is ready, it is time to prepare your body. Here are the steps:
1.)    Lie down on your bed, make sure you’re on your back. Close your eyes, empty the mind, and concentrate on being aware of your body and the sensations it feels. If you are using a binaural beats track for astral projection, play it at this point.
2.)    Take long deep breaths, and exhale all the way. No need to hold your breath, just breathe naturally and have a good flow. Relax. Focus on your breathing and nothing else.
3.)    Gently stimulate your body’s sensations by flexing your muscles and then relaxing, until physical relaxation is reached. What this does is help loosen the body and not have any tension that can cause you to be distracted.
Stay at this stage until you feel the queues for the next steps below.

Preparing the astral body
Performing the above steps will soon make the person reach the hypnagogic state, a hypnotic state that the mind and body experiences. It is the threshold of being awake and being asleep, and it is at this crucial moment that the astral body gets ready to separate, and the astral projection can begin.
1.)    Focus on a body part, and concentrate on it. Any body part will do, although the common ones are a hand, a foot, even just a finger. The goal is to see this body part in your mind, and to have full awareness of this body part, without being distracted by anything else. It is important to keep this focus.
2.)    Will this body part to flex or move, but only in your mind. Resist the temptation to simply move it physically. Remember, we are trying to control the astral body, not the physical one, so it is important to focus on it. If you feel your body moving when you will the body part to move, return to step one and keep visualizing.
3.)    Once you are able to will that first body part to move in your mind but not physically, begin making your visualization wider to include the body parts that are surrounding it, willing them to move, until you can see your legs, arms, and head beginning to respond until the whole body can be moved. Remember, focus on the mind, and not the body.

Keep at this stage until you feel you are fully aware of your astral body getting ready to separate, and when you are, finish the process by following the last steps.

Separating the astral body from the physical body
Once you are fully aware of your astral body, it is time to take the final steps.
1.)    Eventually, you will feel a tingling or vibrating sensation, which often comes in waves that radiate all over the body. This is an indication of your astral body being ready to separate and move on its own. Do not be afraid of these vibrations, embrace and feel it; fear will influence your experience so don’t let it control you, control your fear.
2.)    Step out of your physical body, by willing, in your mind, your body to sit or stand up. If you are able to turn around and see yourself still lying down in bed, then you have just performed astral projection!

Now remember, these steps are very easy to follow, but as with all things, it takes practice to get it right. A binaural beats track for astral projection can help you out, just like this one:

This track was reated with multiple binaural beat frequencies that range from 3Hz to 22Hz; these Theta and Alpha waves are associated specifically to deep relaxation, meditation, creativity, lucid dreaming, access to subconscious images, conducive to inner peace, mystical truths, physical and emotional healing, and taps our ESP (extrasensory perception) as it assists for astral projection or an out of body experience. These frequencies also hold sleep spindles that will help you gain a good night's sleep after you travel the astral planes.

How To Unlock Time Travel Lucid Dreams With Binaural Beats

Time travelling is one of the holy grails of science. There are many hurdles that hinder time travel, like the possibility of paradoxes, split timelines, and of course, the process of time traveling itself. And while true, physical time travel is still out of our grasp, there is another alternative that anyone can try: time travel lucid dreaming!

What is time travel lucid dreaming?

Time travel lucid dream is experiencing a different time period very vividly in a dream, just like one will do in actual time travel (or at least how we imagine it.) Take note, this is very different from the concept of  astral projection time traveling, which we will discuss in a future post. Time travel lucid dreams are just that, dreams, but the vividness of the experience is truly something that everyone will appreciate, especially when it comes to time traveling!

The basics: starting lucid dreaming with lucid dream intent and binaural beats

Time travel lucid dreaming, first and foremost, requires the ability to lucid dream. We have discussed how to do this numerous times in our previous blog posts, and one of the best ways to do it is with the assistance of binaural beats. Binaural beats are tracks of music that rely on two tones of different frequencies to stimulate the brainwaves that govern different domains, like relaxation, creativity, learning, and more. When used in conjunction with lucid dreaming efforts, the brainwaves can greatly increase the chances of entering lucidity.

This is done by listening to the binaural beats track as one starts to sleep, using sleep-friendly headphones or earphones, although there are some binaural beats tracks that do not need these and simply need to be played on speakers.

Whatever the case, a binaural beats track for lucid dreaming can definitely greatly assist in lucid dreaming.

One thing that can also increase one’s chances in entering lucidity is setting a lucid dream intention. This not only conditions the mind to lucid dream, but also to lucid dream a specific way, and in this case, time travel lucid dreaming. Learn more about how to set a lucid dream intention in our previous blog post here.

Next steps: initiating the time travel

Once you’ve achieved lucidity, it’s time to time travel! There are many ways to do this, depending on one’s creativity, lucid dream experience level, and the lucid dream intent set prior to sleeping.

1.)    Build your time machine – since you are in control of your lucid dream, you can actually build your own time machine in it! You may ask: “But I don’t know how to build a time machine because I have no idea of quantum mechanics and the space-time continuum!” Well, it doesn’t matter! As long as you know and believe that what you are building is a time machine, then it IS a time machine in your dream. It can be anything from a big, steampunk-like machine to just a box. But once you are done building the machine, you can already use it and travel back in time!

2.)    Enter a time portal – a time portal can be anything from a simple door, to a big mystical arch, or an ancient cave. This is similar in concept to building a time machine, but is much more streamlined. However, sometimes a lucid dream will not yield a suitable door or portal, so one might resort to building a time machine if necessary. Also, a time portal has no control of where and when you might end up, so be careful!

3.)    Reverse time with a clock or calendar – when you see a calendar or clock in your lucid dream, you can control its flow either by willing it to move forward or backward, or to fiddle with it with your fingers. But don’t do this too fast, or you may end up too far back or too far forward!

4.)    Lucid dream intention – done before sleeping, this method can immediately send you to the time period of your choosing when you enter the dreamscape. This is done by reading up or studying the time period you want over the course of a few hours or even a few days before your target lucid dream session.

Follow these steps, use the appropriate binaural beats track, and you can time travel in your sleep with ease in no time! This binaural beats track for lucid dreaming is one that you can use to achieve lucidity for time travel fast!
